  • Zevfeer's Bite recipe broken?

I have been trying to make Zevfeer's Bite and have no completely run out of options that are remotely plausible or even slightly broken.

The most appropriate recipe would be:

    Fine Parchment (level 62 spells)
Quill of the Dread Lord (SK)
    Bertoxxoulous' Ink Additive (disease resist)
    Consuming Thickener (tap spell)
    Ink of Pain (damages mob)
Ink of Prexus (mana to party)
    Ink of Tunare (heals party)

When that did not work and numerous other variations did not work, I started working my way through a wide range of components in order.

Keeping the parchment and quill constant in all attempts, I first substituted each of the 13 other Thickeners. All DNC.

Then I repeated with all 14 thickeners and the following ink combinations:

Ink of Pain + Ink of Tunare
Ink of Pain + Ink of Prexus
    Ink of Pain
Ink of Tunare + Ink of Prexus

Then I substituted Ink of the Nameless (recourse effect is unresistable) and repeated all of the previous combinations of ink and thickener.

At this point, it appears that this spell recipe either uses some ink that does not correspond to any of the spell's effects, or uses the wrong parchment or quill for the class and level, or is missing completely.

Spells like these are always hard. One thing is that it isn't actually a tap, it is a DD + a recourse that gives mana & hp, so that would probably effect the recipe to use the arcane thickener.

    Obviously:

    Fine Parchment
    Bertox Ink Additive
    Quill of the Dreadlord

    are all good.

    I would think:

    arcane thickener
    ink of pain
    ink of tunare
    ink of prexus

I know you said you tried those, so I don't know =(

I am not saying by the definition of the spell, you are using the wrong thickener... but the recipie in game uses a diferent thickener.

Zevfeer's Bite is actually listed as a Duration Tap (our tap over time spells are in the same sub-menu) in our spell menu. It may use extending thickener, even though it is an instant spell. Just trying to give options. I know you said you already went through every thickener, however.

I have seen a couple other recipes that used unexpected thickeners, so I specifically substituted every different thickener with each of the combinations of inks and ink additive I tried.

I am trying to hint that this recipe is correct except for the thickener. Try your thickeners again.

Over lunch today, I tried the above recipe with all 14 thickeners. DNC. Don't ask me why, but I also tried combinations with two thickeners, all of which were DNC.

Then I tried backing off to a simpler, but yet unknown recipe for the SK spell, Touch of Volatis.

My first attempt at a recipe for Touch of Volatis was
              Fine Parchment (62 spell)
Quill of the Dread Lord (SK)
              Ink of Pain (damage)
              Consuming Thickener (Lifetap)
              Luclin's Ink Additive (Magic Resist)

This one also DNC Then, I cycled through all the thickeners with the same result.

These wacky SK spells have me scratching my head.

Try adding the ink that heals =) Remember that taps do 2 things.

Ink of Tunare helped, had to switch to Arcane Thickener to get Touch of Volatis to combine. Will submit recipe to the DB section. Now back to Zevfeer's.

Starting to look like multiple dev's worked on different spell levels (understandable, it's a lot of work). The inconsistencies in the thickeners hint at such. All it takes is for two people to see differently in their mind how the spells worke. It will be interesting to see if patterns emerge along spell levels.

Level 61 lifetap (necro): consuming thickener (what is should be)
Level 62 lifetap (sk): arcane thickener

Level 61 fear (cleric/druid): debilitating thickener (what it should be)
Level 62 fear (necro/sk): enervating thickener

So level 62 spells may be "pot luck" on the thickeners.

Zevfeer's bite is a level 62 spell, gl. Could be any number of thickeners:
arcane - it does damage up front and isn't a true tap
enervating - it is under the duration tap on our spell menu in-game
mitigating - it does heal the group
a few others based on combination of the above possibilities

I will recheck tomorrow. I may have misread how close you where.

I do remember it is (maybe incorrectly) enervating thickener... and I thought your inks were correct... but I will have to recheck.

I have a LONG doctors appointment today, so i will not be in work where i can look it up.

Never fun (unless having a baby or something, which I don't think you are doing - and even that people wouldn't use the word "fun"). Hope all is well.

I get overly fatigued when exercizing... so they are running a few test to be sure that it is only that I am WAAAAAAAAAAYYYY out of shape (which is what we expect... but we are being careful)

Probably ink additive of the nameless. Though I thought he said he tried that.

There seems to be a lot of inconsistency on spells that have a recourse effect. Inconsistency on wether the ingredients are for the spell itself or the recourse effect.

Not sure I would have ever tried this combo without the hint. Luclin's Ink Additive. Recipe submitted to database.
