Is there any guildmaster that can train you in Research above 182?

No, you can no longer train Spell Research beyond...20, I think it is. Not at ANY guildmaster. This was changed when teh skill cap was increased to 300, in preparation for the new recipes that were released with DoD. Spell Research is now a "real" tradeskill, you must combine for skillups.

I thought it was changed without warning *before* the cap was raised to 300. I am specifically annoyed at this becaus eI would have spammed the rest of the way to 300 had I know this was going to happen, and what an absolute pain in the rear it was to skillup.

at some point it was possible to buy your way to 250. i (and several others) did this immediately! shortly thereafter, any points above 200 were removed from research, and no one was able to buy points past 250 at any time, anyway. so even if you had been warned, you would not have been able to buy past 200.

of course... watching younglings in my guild who just started the game recently, begging for things like rawhide and ringmail for practice runes... i thought i had it bad as a mage before, but it sounds worse now >< been tossing all our looted research pages and words on our alts for a while now so i'll work on Necro research one of these days and see!
