Worth Trying?

I've got a 200 base research skill (210 with geerlok) and arcane tongues 2. Is it worthwhile for me to even attempt the new dod combines with my skill level so far below the trivial?

I was successful on two 65 combines with only 200 and AT 2. AT 3 is about as far as you can assure success, since it's near impossible to skill up.
