  • Elemental Siphon - Mage Spell, Need Help

Elemental Siphon is a Level 65 Mage spell which the Mage casts that auto-targets his pet, instantly damages the Pet for a fixed amount, and provides a mana recourse to the owner.

    So I tried:

    Runic Parchment - 65 Spell
Quill Of the Arch Convoker - Mage Spell
    Ink of Prexus - Mana
Additive of the Nameless - Irresistible Spells
Consuming Thickener - Spell Transfers Energy from One Being to Another
Ink of Pain - Spell Damages Pet

    DNC

Also Have Tried (ala SK spell)

    Runic Parchment - 65 Spell
Quill Of the Arch Convoker - Mage Spell
    Ink of Prexus - Mana
Additive of the Nameless - Irresistible Spells
    Invigorating Thickener - Enhances Target

    DNC

Have also tried all combinations of the above that I can think of.

Can anyone offer any other suggestions? There should be no spell collision here as there isn't a PoP era spell of the same nature.

Been working on this one as well and used both the DD thicker and Self buff one as well...no success with Ink of Prexus and Pain and the various combinations of them'

      Ink of Prexus Mana effect
Ink Additive of the Nameless No Resists

          Suggestion for Elemental Siphon Recipe

          Suggest the following recipe:

          Runic Parchment
          Quill of the Archmage
          Ink of Prexus
          Invigorating Thickener
          Consuming Thickener
          Ink Additive of the Nameless

Ink of Pain does not fit, because the buff does not harm you as the icon sits in your buff tray. It helps you.

Edit: Scratch this recipe. I forgot it's only one Thickener per spell. /bonk piedmont

You may not have to account for the effects of the recourse in your recipe. A recourse, by definition, is not a spell you cast, it's an unresistable effect (effect, not a spell) cast on you by something else (the target?). Since you're not casting it, it's not really your spell. Your spell, the one you're casting, is the portion that hits the pet for damage.

Per Lucy, a partial list of the effects of Elemental Siphon is:
            Spell Type: Beneficial
            Skill: Conjuration
            Target Type: Summoned Pet
            Duration: Instant
            Resist: Unresistable (0)
            1: Decrease Hitpoints by 1200

            Given this, I would try:
            Code:
            Level 65: Runic Parchment
Mage Spell: Quill of the Arch Convoker
            Direct Damage: Ink of Pain
Unresistable: Ink Additive of the Nameless
Thickener: Invigorating Thickener (Beneficial spell according to Lucy)
            -or-
            Thickener: Arcane Thickener (DD spell)
            -or-
            Thickener: Consuming Thickener (life/mana Tap?)
            -or-
            Thickener: Conjuring Thickener (Conjuration spell)
Mages get no other unresistable DD spells at 65, so I wouldn't rule out that this spell counts as a "nuke" for all intents and purposes when planning the ingredients. Try those, and see what you get?

I hope you find this one, it's probably the most useful of the 3 GoD spells.

              1. GoD nuke gets upgraded at level 68, so easily replaceable.
              2. GoD pet (MS4) doesn't get upgraded per se, but it's not as good as 66 Air pet, and therefore pretty useless once you get 66+.
              3. Elemental Siphon is a spell I still use, because the upgrade is level 70, and I think it's 4th or 5th level 70 rune turn-in. So I still don't have it.

                      Thanks Ngreth =)

Just an FYI though, this spell doesn't make sense with those ingredients.

                      Let me show you why:

Debilitating Thickener is made of two jade and yarrow. It is used for spells that debilitate the target in some manner, but not instantaneous damage.

The damage IS instantaneous. It's a DD of 1200 to the pet.

it is one of those HORRIBLE mixed boats...

then the effect on YOU has a duration.... so it could also be a Buff as well as a DD...

The choice was made for that, and at this point I am not inclined to change it.
