Brand New Researcher: Pre 101 Skill Question

I made a new enchanter alt recently for the purpose of

1) enchants
2) spell research and
3) tinkering

I used to play an enchanter as my main, and when I did, it was possible to train research at the trainer. Well, I took my alt to the trainer, did 20 points and then they said that they couldn't train anymore. So.... I need to actually research to get up to 101 to get my LoY research book.

Does anyone have any suggestions regarding how to research or tips on where to find materials for research to go from 20-101? I have been vendor diving, buying enchanter materials in the bazaar, and saving anything from drops, but this is really painful compared to any other tradeskill pre-100. Basically anything that is an enchanter part, I'm throwing in and combining. I know I can do swatches once I get my LoY book.

You pretty much hit it there:
1) Vendor diving
2) Baz buying
3) Barter buying

There's also the practice runes you can do to 182 or so, but again you have tons of drops you need for them that are not readily available, and some have said it'll cost you more that way.

Finally there's just praying, and realizing how spell research sucks to advance even with the new DoD.

You could make 'Vial of pure water' to 54, that's all vendor bought...
4 water flasks - bought everywhere
5 empty vials - bought in pok
gnomish heat source - bought in Undershore

Yeah, I find spell research to be more dificult to advance, even with the new DoD combines, than any other tradeskill out there.
