Vendor diving is the only way you will get any significant amount of research components in any reasonable amount of time.

Make list of what you need... don't neglect the priest class spells. Then hit up every merchant in PoK, Tranquility, the DoN camps, the LDoN camps, the Bazaar, etc.

Check regularly. Especially the first few days after a patch.

practice research sucks. Rather be able to help another necro out with selling the scribe spell. I don't make a profit from it like everyone else. Ask any necro that has visited my vendor NPC vendor prices.
