  • what to use post 200?

back to eq after an absence and I see that research is no longer capped at 200.

What are people using for skillup runs post 200 that have easy components to obtain/buy?

the current recipes only go to 227, we are hoping for new recipes sometime soon (could be a while though )

go to www.eqtraders.com, click on Recipes-->Spell Research--<your class> and click on [trivial] to sort the recipes by trivial, scroll down til you see 200+ recipes, and proceed from there.

thanks. Yes I have looked at the trivial list. Perhaps my question wasnt stated as clearly as I could have. What I am wondering is if people have found one particular spell recipe that is has the easiest components to find/farm to make a 'run' from 200 to 227 with (for example, similar to doing a 100 combines for baking or tailoring). I have the impression that for most spell research beyond 200, a lot of the components are much rarer drops than when I was researching in the 100s and could just vendor mine for faded pages for example and do a stack of twenty combines.

Of course it varies by class as well, so in my case I am looking at chanter and special spell recipes.

What's probably easiest is to just keep any of the new research components (can tell new ones as they are weightless). Since all components are mob dropped and the drops are really pretty random (at best), it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to out seeking to make one or two types of combines.

Once you have your collection of components, you can run my program (see link in sig). It'll read your inventory files (generated via the /outputfile inventory command) and one of the files it makes will list all the spells that you have at least one component for and highlight the ones that you have all the components for. Then you can pick and choose which of them you want to attempt (based on trivials and resale values).
