In the post at http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/show...837#post124837 Maddoc seemed to indicate that he'd have an answer on Tuesday (July 6) regarding a refund for spent points on getting research up to 250. Has anyone seen/heard what they're going to do (other than just reset everyone back to 200)?

Practice point refund?

I'd love to know the answer as well.
As they've been so silent it seems to suggest that they don't plan to do anything at all.
If that is the case, I think it's another example of SOE not making adequate reparation for the mistakes they made ..... and I had thought after the recent Summit that this kind of behaviour towards players was supposed to be a thing of the past

On the other hand I have not seen anyone complaining that they did not get their points back yet, at least not directly or vocally.
I can confirm that I have lost my extra point, but to be honest I don't remember exactly how many training points I had. I'm not sure if I got a pp refund either since it would have only been about 35pp and I was in trader at the time :-/

LOL, I didn't even look yesterday to see if my skill had dropped down to 200. Had no need to do any research. I am sure I did not find an extra 5k on me but if they just added to my bank I would never notice a 5k difference. Will also need to go check my practice points since I spent 50pts on it also.
Skill down to 200, points refunded. Petitioned for my plat back. Response last night was do a /bug report as if this was some random bug that happened. You would think they would let the CS team in on changes they make and then undo.Last edited by Amotd; 07-16-2004, 07:19 AM.

Received 5k in my bank and a comment saying the cap was accidentally raised to 250 and was changed back to 200. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I petitioned and was told to /bug it. Couple of days later I found 5k in my bank and a GM left a message saying they accidentally had raised the cap and so it was dropped back to 200 and apologized for the inconvenience.

Anyone else have any luck getting a platinum refund beside Amotd? I'm having no luck at all. My first petition was answered with "were sorry for the lost hp's...blah...blah...development issue....blah blah....we're working on the problem". In other words, they didn't even read it and just sent me a canned response. HP's? Idiots.
So I petition again a few days later. Now this is one that REALLY makes me mad. I basically got accused of exploiting a bug and that was against the Sony EULA. What?!?!?
I'm now, in over 5 years of playing EQ (started April 10,1999), this >< close to cancelling and walking away from EQ. It's not the platinum, 5k isn't that much but it's more the principle.
I guess all the stories of bad customer service are true. This is probably my 3rd petition in 5yrs playing and if I remember correctly the first two were answered fairly, but now this.
Hoping someone else has better luck,
Yasbus (the cheater)

Totally unacceptable
Yasbus
It is totally unacceptable that they should treat you that way. Given how many times in the past that changes have been made and forgotten in the patch messages there is NO WAY that should be considered an exploit. I am certain that managers at Sony would be appaled at the poor customer service you received. I would consider sending a complaint letter, certified mail, return receipt requested, to sony with the full details of the /petition /bug you sent and the resonse you received (and from whom) so that they can give appropriate training to their service personnel

Yasbus – I’m sorry to hear the response you got. Unfortunately, not every GM is equal – some know more about existing bugs than others. If you aren't satisfied with the response you got, ask to escalate it higher. Try to stay calm and polite when doing so, and you may get the result you are looking for. Point out that:
1) It has been admitted that this was a bug
2) SOE has a history of not announcing everything in patches (in fact they have stated that they will never announce every change made, EVER) thus you did not know or assume it to be an error until it was too late, you’d already spent points & plat,
3) Others have successfully petitioned and been refunded their platinum, please treat your customers in a fair and consistent manner.Master Artisan Maevenniia the Springy Sprocket Stockpiler of the really long name
