Research Container Question

I hope I can explain this clearly here..I can't get my boyfriend to understand. I used to open my research container, and I would get this huge window with an experiment button, and auto-inventory + more. I hit some kind of button accidentally, and now every time I open the container, it's the plain old (old fashioned) container (with only spaces for me to manually put pages in, and a combine button). My question is, how can I get my container to open up the original way?

<Ctrl> + Right mouse click

...and then you will see the button so you can set it back to open on right click not Ctrl right click if you want.
