Hi all, i m a 62 wiz on karana server and i have 145 in spell research (no more points to spend). I m trying to train spell research with making swatches, but when i m trying to make Misery scribed swatces with words of misery and had a message : u can no longer advance skill in making .... bla bla bla.
I would know if there is a recipe i can use to advance my skill.

I updated the trivial in the database from your information - thank you

The way to check if there are any swatches that trivial over your current research skill is to type "swatch" into the search box - that will bring up all the researched swatches (as well as the different sorts of silk ones)

Or, rather than doing a search on "swatch", do this.


1) Main EQTraders page, left hand side, click on Recipes

2) At the bottom of the list, select Spell Research Swatch Recipes

3) Sort by Trivial (click on the word Trivial )

You now can see everything that has been submitted to this site about researched swatches

There are old worl recipes that will take your skill to the low 180's. Past that, you'll have to use the post 50 spell combines, or level up for more buildpoints. Following Doebi's instructions will get you to the info you need.

Try making Magi Rune (Complete)

Recipe is: Magi Rune (Azia)+Magi Rune (Beza) in old world or LoY container, trivial 180<x<=182.

Magi Rune (Azia)=A piece of parchment+a quill+topaz+shark skin+brownie parts in Concordance of research, no fail combine.

Magi Rune (Beza)=A piece of parchment+a quill+topaz+Giant toes (old world only)+Fine Steel pierce or blunt weapon.

A word of advice: at 62, you have 3 more levels - that is 15 more training points.

Treasure these points, and spend not a single one until you hit 185 skill. Around 185, skillup rate slows exponentially.

I had the foresight to get my Research to 150+ over the course my leveling, and even after sinking 30+ points into it to get to 200, I still have over 50 points left.
