Finding Tanik

I am not sure if this has been mentioned or not, and I am in a bit of a rush so I will just post it anyways.

An easy way to know where the trap has been set is to either have a pet up, or bring a friend with a pet and have the pet guard here at the top of the ramp. The pet will face the exact direction of the trap. Have the pet follow in the direction of the trap and if you don't hit it do it again from your new position, you were probably just a hair off.

The only downside to this is occasionally the pet will have been watching a nearby animal, however in almost a dozen tries last night this only happened once, and it was just a matter of moving a little further away from the animal (which btw was being pulled in by a group fighting not far from us, mobs don't usually wander too near to kael).

Just keep in mind while doing this there are 2 traps, Tanik and the death squads and you'll most likely hit the death squad trap a few times while doing this

Use Triangulation to pinpoint trigger location.

With 2 people, you can set the pet on guard and have the first person stand behind pet and face same direction as pet.

Then have pet owner - move to the right about 30 feet and forward about 30 feet and set the pet again. The pet owner now stands behind pet and face in direction.

When the pet owner is set, he tells first person to WALK STRAIGHT forward. until he's directly lined up.

This is fast way to find triggers and 2 pet owners goes even faster.

Took somewhere around 26 tries (Death Squads) for my monk to find the frozen dwarf. Just glad I had a mage there to CoH me after I FD.
