  • 3rd shawl quest. did an oven eat your Griff eggs?

This is just a suggestion, go to thurgadin and cook your souffle in mordin's oven. I used an oven in PoK to do my first souffle, my skill was well above the trivial needed, and the oven ate my eggs. I said many bad words over the 3 weeks it took me to get 4 more eggs. I then had the bright idea that this might be cultural armor, and went to mordin's meats and cooked my second set of 4 eggs in his oven. (crossing all my fingers and toes) and hit combine. Presto magico! it worked, and I fell off my chair in relief. If this saves anyone the angst I went through, YAY! if its completely wrong, I apologize

I did all my 3rd shawl combines in a PoK stove. You simply were unlucky.

I had 140 baking when I was doing 3rd shawl, and succeeded first time on all the food.

I lost my souffle to the Grand historian himself : (

He gave me back the napkin but kept the souffle with no instructions, no xp. I though I was suppose to get a seal to give to Borannin along with the 2nd shawl to get the 3rd.

Has anyone else ever experienced something like this?

When you say it "ate" your combine, do you mean that you failed the combine or that the components disappeared with no message regaurding success or failure at all?

If it was a failed combine, then allow me to introduce you to the RNG - she's a real bitch at times, but you've got to deal with her every time you hit that combine button.

On the other hand, if the materials just poofed with no message, this was a bug and needed to be reported.

I would guess your faction wasn't good enough.

I just figured he didn't like the souffle enough to give me the seal

So atm I'm indifferent to the grand Historian AND Borannin....does the faction need to amiable or ally?

Also, if anyone happens to know of an easy way to raise this faction I'd really appreciate it

            Thanks,

I'm guessing that they moved too far away from the oven. The eggs are no drop, and if you move too far away from the oven, it'll close by itself and any no drop items inside will be gone.

The PoK oven didn't eat my eggs, but I failed the snow bunny combine with over 200 baking. Out of spite I went and gathered enough components for two more, I turned one in and ate the other myself.

The axe part of the Velium Focus quest gives good faction, and can be repeated rapidly, especially for a class with bind/gate. The quest text says he wants "small chunk of velium," but he really wants "small piece of velium" (the stackable kind). I didn't have the faction to receive the velium purifier for the 4th shawl, but doing the axe part of the quest 10-15 times fixed that rather quickly.

Well just want to post a folllow up of my experience tonight.

I had about 12 giant warrior helmets on another toon that I used to do the Icewell keep turn ins. 4 helmets per turn in so i was able to go from indifferent to amiable on 3 turn ins.

I went to EW and hunted down the snow griffins till I got my 4 eggs, baked them with spices and made the souffle.

I gave the Grand Historian his meal along with his napkin and....*trumpets blare*...got the seal for the final turn in and am now the proud owner of a brand new woven shawl!

Just got the shawl and already anxious for the upgrade

Thanks to all that gave me some advise :P

And remember, you can MQ the Seal to someone else so they dont have to do any baking!

Did you close the oven with your no drop eggs in it?
