  • Sacred Water for Pottery step in Aid Grimel

Just have a couple of questions. I went with a small group last night and killed about 15 Valorian Guards and no Sacred Water dropped. My question is this...Am I killing the right mobs? If so, would killed the named versions of these mobs (i.e. the ones in the tents) is the drop rate better? Does anyone have a guess to what the drop rate is on these? Thanks in advance for any information or help you can give.

Pretty sure doing the named helps. It's a long day if you're gonna be doing these anyways.

Here's a little trick for you though. Have someone pull them to the zoneline and then zone out. Start hailing the one you want to kill, he'll stay the others go, and you have your mob.

Can also use a FD puller instead of zoning. I think they only drop off the named-like ones that have the mega-man armor

Spent 4 hours killing the 4 named in the tents today 0 waters, my friend spent 3 hours a couple days ago and 0 waters. The drop rate may be bugged at least on Brell or extremely bad luck with 0 drops in 60 mobs.

This is the 3rd time I've camped Sacred Water, first two times the drop rate was about 1 in 7 or 1 in 8 named mobs.

I have not seen the non-named white suit mobs drop the water yet and have had 8 waters drop so far.

I need two more waters for my second earring, hopefully patch fixes it :? .

I've seen three drop in 30 mins, and none drop for 6 hours. Any of the Buzz Lightyear models can drop the Sacred Water.

Same a Chaid, i got my 2 first in a couple hours, then nothing for like 10 hours, then another hour session for the last one. Completly random then.

Hi Shadough btw and grats for your 3rd water last night

Got nothing in our first run (killed about 15 of them).

Next run of about 6 got 2.

              None in the next run.

Hopefully final run will be in a couple hours..;-)

I had to vent and sent sony my /feedback about what I felt about the rarity of this drop in light of the difficulty of the mobs and the difficulty of the camp that it comes from. In a nutshell, I told them that I felt that the quest was supposed to be reflective of dedication (time and money) to tradeskills, and that the quest shouldn't be about having to get ridiculously rare drops (no drop of course) from these guys.

With the flag changes, not many higher levels want to experience in PoV any more. The risk for this camp in terms of the difficulty of the mobs is far over-balanced from the rewards in terms of the sacred water, experience, and perhaps some other loot. Gonna be very hard for me to get groups together to camp this spot till I am lucky enough to get the water.

Yes, these are rare and the camp sucks. But, seriously, this is the warm-up camp. If you get discouraged by this one, you'll never make it through the sap for the tailoring stage.

If they fix ANY drop rate on this quest, I'd prefer it be that sap.

I realize that I am in the minority, but I can solo at the Plane of Fire zone in for the sap. No way can I do that at this camp (summoning and aggro linkage). My point was not directed specifically at the difficulty of the camp in needing a group, but rather at the rarity of the drop rate of the sacred water. The difficulty I see with this camp is that it will be very difficult to get people to help out in a group for this as it is a difficult camp with very minimal reward....ie no loot that I saw that might make it worth other people's time to come help out. The experience is nothing great there so I can't entice them with the availability of an experience group.

Well, at least you can solo one camp...

I can't feel much sympaty with you. The sap is much more rare than the sacred water, then you still only want the water to become more common, because you can't solo those mobs.

Most of us will need to get help to get all parts to this quest, or buy them in bazaar where sap now goes for 20k piece. Lucky me I have the friends I need to camp all parts.

I'm not really looking for anyone's sympathy; I was simply venting my frustration. It seems that the consensus is that the sap is harder to come by. Having not camped for the sap yet myself, I cannot comment about the sap. But, if my experience of not a single drop of the sacred water in like 5 hours of trying is typical of the PoV camp, I truly feel that the drop rate there is too low. And obviously if the drop rate on sap is even lower than that of the sacred water.....oh my !!!

Well, I was just venting my frustation I too, not on you specifically, but on members of the imbalanced classes that still ask for more abilities for themselves.

The classes in EQ are unbalanced, both in solo game and in the group/raid game. What annoys me most is people in those classes that are on the 'upper' part of the balance scale complain when they see that some other class can do one thing they cannot do when they themselves can do 9 things the other class can't do.

I wish people should care about the overall class balance in the game, instead of just caring about any, imaginary or not, abilities their own class lack.

I'll stop this here before this thread is moved into the rant forum

Well, finally managed to get some people to help me out at this camp. I managed to get 3 waters in about 7 hours or so of play time. Experience turned out to be reasonably decent....got about 3.5 AA points during that time span (not as good as some other places obviously, but not a total waste either). Now if I can only convince that group to come help me to get another 3 waters so I can push through that part of the quest the second time that most people seem to be doing
