Jaggedpine Forest leggings quest completed

Well after killing more potameid bewilders than I care to count I finally got the threads of the hatchling to drop and finish the leggings of the pine quest.

Stats are kind of disappointing but I didn't care, just needed closure after so much emotional/time involvement.

Interesting thing to note is that when I combined the threads of the hatchling and shadowjade moss I received the moss threaded rawhide leggings directly rather than the spool of moss thread first as would have been expected from the NPC quest text.

As for the sewing combine it was (not surprisingly) trivial at 234 skill.

Okies, I'm a bit confuzzled here (easy to confuzzle me during beta on the db).

Are you saying that you didn't need to get the ruined rawhide leggings to combine with the thread.

Is there anyone savvy enough with these druid quests to tackle the current quest write-up and make it comprehensible?

It's cobbled together from posts, stray comments, etc., and it's very bewildering. However, I simply do not have the time to do all these quests to figure out what's wrong which where.

I have a write up of the quests somewhere on my harddrive complete with /locs, NPC text and a summary of each quest. I'll go through it and check for accuracy this weekend and post it here for Grel and Sentier to look it over. When it passes their inspection, I'll e-mail it to you. The only missing parts are the finished Tunic (subcombine doesnt work and NPC text that may give the answer is bugged) and bracer (still farming for ultra rare drop.)

confirming no need for the ruined raw hide leggings

As of yesterday when i finished legs i can confirm grel statement. I finally got the bewilders to drop the threads of the hatchlings on my 125th bewilder kill. As per the lerian wyndrunner instructions i went ahead and did the combine of shadowjademoss and threads of the hatchlings in my large sewing kit. the combine war trivial at 169 skill and i received the Mosss threaded rawhide leggings.

before i got the threads of hatchling i killed the anchorites of brell serlis <sp> as instructed by lerian wyndrunner. I killed them for 2 hrs one day and 1 hr 4 days later. i even killed snarla the fang and the oracle guy <sorry cant rem his name>. In all that killed i never saw the ruined rawhide leggings drop once.

Sentier - the Ruined Rawhide Leggings drop from the Darkpaw gnolls (specifically, the Darkpaw Mystics), not the Anchorite gnolls. Lerian's text is misleading since all gnolls worship Brell (per Norrathian lore.) The drop is very rare. I hunted in the Darkpaw caves exclusively for three straight levels and never saw them drop. A friend who knew of my quest goals got them and gave them to me.

Niami, yes the tailoring combine for the spool is bugged. Instead of getting the spool of moss thread as you would expect to then combine with the ruined leggings to make the moss threaded leggings, you get the moss threaded ones direct. Thus the drop from the darkpaw mystics is at this time not required.

/sigh Just another another one of the many bugs that have (and still!) plague these Jaggedpine armor quests.
