its not THAT bad

Did it last night (6/27/03) and he did get stuck. We had everyone dogpile him (or group hug, however you want to say it).

Everyone got as close to him as we could and sat down. Shortly after he would "jump" and continue walking.

He got stuck twice. The first time he jumped a few feet away and continued walking his path. The second time he jumped ALL the way (**** long way hehe) back to his spawn point. Then he walked to the gnomes (had already killed everything) without getting stuck. We did go back and escort him.

So don't be afraid of doing the quest, just be aware of what might happen and plan accordingly.

He was busted as of 6/24 for me on Xev - between that and the new crash bug, I nearly didn't get my shawl - we did several /bug and /feedback.

well i decided to try this anyways while bugged despite my better judgement. let me just say while we were successful, it was a major pain in the hind-end. took several hours to get the general on his way again.

he kept getting stuck, we'd crowd him and he'd warp back to spawn. what finally did work was having ONE person sit in his way, real close to him and he eventually hopped over him back on his way. aggroing him and dragging him to next fight spot did not work for us

glad to say i am the proud owner now of the 8th shawl. thanks to all who posted here on the subject

I got my 8th shawl yesterday. 3 groups, lvl 58 average. Yes, overkill, but as the sacred texts go:

Verily did a great multitude of mighty heroes behold a foe foul and crafty, and fall upon it they didst with fell sword and magic most perilous. And vanquish didst they yon foe in but a mere eyeblink. And saw the heroes that it hath been Overkill, and that it was GOOD.

General got stuck first time not too far from 4th encounter, in sight of ToFS. We tried piling on him, and he warped to his starting spot.

We decided not to wait for him to walk all the way again, so we aggroed him and kited all the way to ToFS, where he was blurred. He headed back to the point where he got stuck, and got stuck there again. So we aggroed him again, and blurred him again. He again paced back to 'stuck spot', and from there he proceeded to 4th encounter.

After 5th encounter was done, General got stuck again on the island with gnomes. We did not try piling on him this time. Instead, we kept aggroing and blurring him. He got 'unstuck' after 3rd blur.

I estimate the whole walk took less than an hour.

Helped with the General three times recently for friends/aquaintances, and he's gotten stuck all three times. (Once in more than one spot.) All three times we were able to unstick him by aggroing him, dragging him some distance along his route and memblurring him, although it sometimes took two or three tries.

I did the Shawl 8 run this afternoon, and the General didn't get stuck at all.

Looks like they fixed it with this last patch.
