5th Shawl: Glowing wurm biles

I got all of my five bile in the last three days. They all dropped inside the caves. None dropped off static spawns. None dropped off young shardwurms (although I hunted very few of these).

I have a possible reason why zero bile dropped in 200 kills and it has nothing to do with the RNG. I'm not surprised if you were competing with others for the bile, and weren't looking for the shardwurms that glow. Inside the caves (except along the river) I know instantly whether a shardwurm has the bile by looking for the glow. Those are the ones I attack. The shine from the river makes it difficult to pick out the glowing shardwurms. If someone who didn't recognize the glow was competing with me, I bet I'd have my five bile, before the competitor got one.

I only attack shardwurms without the bile when I have lots of mana. These wurms are placeholders for ones with bile.

But sometimes NONE of the wurms are glowing. I was hunting wurms a few days ago, and killing them both in and out of the cave, and never saw a single wurm glow. And I have killed a glowing wurm in the past, so I know what to look for.

Then the blizzard hit, visibility dropped to nothing, and I wondered why I was wasting time in GD.

I can confirm that Biles drop off Elder Shardwurms as well. Last night, 2 hours, 5 biles...4 from Young Shardwurms, 1 from Elder. ALL were looted south of Shardwurm cave.

Just like to add that I recently did the 5th shawl quest and gotten at LEAST 3 of the biles form inside of the caves(2 from the young) Elder and Ancient were the ones I remember.

I've done this on 2 characters. The drop rate outside the caves is appallingly low. Killing 100s of shardwurms outside, it was about 1 in 200 shardwurms per bile from mid 2002 onwards, the drop rate was much higher in 2001 and early 2002. The roamers inside the cave seem to give the best drop rates. The crystalline shardwurms drop lots of spells, but I have never seen a bile drop from one.

I got all of mine from roamers by duoing with a ranger, I would ensnare, and dot with clicky drones, and the ranger would beat it in the back till it died.

I had multiple wurms chasing me at all times with the ranger beating them down, and they never turned on him, didn't take very long at all that way.

Had to farm biles twice, and all of the dropped from roamers out in the open. I hunted caves extensively too.

Strange you talk of this, but I did a lot of wurm killing inside the caves, looking for Imp Super camo. and it never dropped from inside the caves, and I had to kill roamers that went near the crystalines cave.

But I killed 1 Young shardwurm outside for a laugh and I got one.

i found all mine about a week ago outside the caves, four from young, one from an elder.

My brother found 7 of them (he was hunting there anyway) after me, three on youngs outside, and the rest off of elders inside.
