If you fail..8th shawl question

What do i need to do in order to do the 8th shawl again. I failed the war. I know that I can not summon Dain again. So I will have to find someone to piggy back it or find him up before a guild kills him.

But I just make the armor again and then show the shawl or how does this work?

Any and all help would be great.

My condolences on you losing the 8th war, as much as you don't want to hear this, you're the first person I've seen (or admit?) fail.

However, it appears all is not lost..

Thank you. I have seen only one other fail but as you said none will say they have even when they do.

I have got all my gems already again. But going to have to wait on Dain now.

Aw shoot, I just did my Dain last week, else I could have summoned him for you. You might want to post in Karana (if you haven't already) asking for people to let you know if he's getting summoned by someone else to do their shawl. Heck, you might even get someone to let you know if their guild is gathering to kill him and will let you sneak in and do your thing first.

Once you've got your armor all made and the Dain is up, you can proceed like usual. Make the armor then show him your shawl to get the orders to get the kit to combine and give to the Dain. The cheese stands alone, the cheese stands alone...er, sorry.

As someone who is trying to get some pickup groups together to do the shawl, I'd be interested to hear what went wrong. Can you provide an details? I know it can be painful to talk about a failure, but maybe others can learn from it.

I have no problem saying what went wrong. We failed but everyone there learned something even though we did fail. So all was not lost.

I think the problem was lvls honestly. We had 12 people most lvl 55 to 62. However, we had no chanter or nukers. The 12 people were all Clerics and Pallys other then one BST and Rouge. We almost had wave 3 done when we got alot of zone trash so to say. We ended up with more adds then we had people. An no way to mez the adds that were not part of the war. Along with that our Clerics could not med on the 3rd wave do to keeping adds off the tanks.

I am kinda tired was up all night getting gems and hunting furs. So if I think of something else or you have any questions feel free to ask.

I know now that I am going to have to get more outside help.

You mean people kill the dain on your server???

He is up 90%+ of the time on Rallos (as a guess only seen him not there once in the past few months)

Mostly cause of his mediocre drops

I don't know if it is the right Dain but I think he pops when someone is doing the Ring War, see if you can turn it in then, two nice epic fights. Then after you all are done with the Shawl War, get revenge on the giants in the Ring War .

Finally found the Dain up tonight when I went to look for him for my second go around.

Just wanted to thank those that helped me gain info on how to do this again after the first war failed before it was done.

Wish me luck as I plan to do this war again very soon.

LOL Oberan yea... the only guilds on RZ right now who might do him is ES, Reverant, or SoD. But due to all the coldain rings & thurg MQs for twinks n' what not nobody kills him. His loot sux compared to his difficulty (other then his head turn in) and they fixed his pathing (so i'm told) so you can't pull him down into the pit anymore.

I'm not sure what Tier your guild was on but my guild is post ST (sleeper hasn't been awoken on RZ) and doing AL, Tunare, CT, Tormax type things and we did 8th shawl with a little over a group with VERY little trouble. It seems you guyz shouldn't have failed, was the BST slowing the mobs? Other then that not really any advice. I'm told he no longer path's over the ice flows so he doesn't get stuck? But GL on your shawl.

Is this fix a very recent development? My guild took out the dain not that long ago and fought him in the pit no problem (Well, we wiped once, yes, but the second go was a complete success! =P)

He seems to be a less desired target anymore due to the difficulty in relation to loot as compaired to other encounters...

My guild is getting set to go pro-giant and once I finish my 8th shawl I'd be more than happy to piss the dwarfs off =P
