Do I even need geonid faction?

About to start hunting these dudes and I am wondering if I will ever need the faction? I know I can repair it while hunting but it seems like a lot of work to keep faction for something I have never seen in my 62 levels of play.

I am a 62nd level Cleric btw. I understand if I was a mage or something....

no. only int casters need thier faction if they want to do a quest to get them this.
