I had several people tell me I needed to get my skills to the point where all the combines are trivial. Given how hard it is to get tailoring up farming hoppers and acrylia, I decided it was easier just to farm more velium furs. It was - even with no tracking ability. (Don't bother if there are trackers hunting, except after a zone reset when there are lots of hounds up - thanks LoY!!)
With a skill of 163 and a geerlok, I had 1 failure and 1 skillup ) in 9 combines.
