MQ'ing 8th shawl piece?

Hi there,

Short-time lurker, first-time poster. =)

The long and the short of this is that I have two characters I want to do shawls with. Most skills I don't mind upping for both characters, because I love tradeskills. Smithing, however, is a different story, and I'd like to do that with only ONE of my characters.

Since the two are on different accounts, can the smithing portion of the 8th ring be mq'ed?

Short answer: Yes.
And you dont even need two accounds. Just have anyone hand in the COMBINED armor box and it will start the guy walking. Once you are at the other side anyone can hand there shawl to the Avitar, but only one person can do it, he pops after that. Hope it helps.

Oh Pootle...tailoring to 158 is easy...and then just farm the stuff a couple of times.

My first thought was "omg! you're going to do the shawls twice", but then I remembered I did them twice.../sheepish grin

The only things to remember when doing this:

The person doing the smithing must have their 7th shawl in order to get the box to combine the armor in.

The person receiving their 8th from the MQ must get their 7th shawl approved by the Dain before handing it to the Avatar of Below at the end of the war in Iceclad.


I'm *still* on my 7th shawl, yet have smithed 4 sets of armor for the 8th so my friends wouldn't have to get their smithing up. I've really grown to hate geonids.
