  • Anyone done 8th shawl fight since the recent patch?

The recent patch was supposed to fix the General's pathing through Iceclad. Anyone done it since then, that can tell if it was really fixed or not?

    Thanks,

Finally did mine last night after doing three others for guildy's over the last month or so, and for the first time we did NOT have to agro/fd the poor little guy out form under the ice. I've heard others say it wasn't fixed, but for me last night it most certainly was.

We did it tonight again. And he is changed like the person said. He justs cuts his path a little short and goes through the water. Finally fixed it though . Going to finish mine tommorow

Did it twice last week (once for me Yay Me!!) He just swims across the water, well away from the ice flows. Only pathing problem I saw was that just near the gnomes he stopped. We had to aggro him away then let him walk back a bit and resume his proper path.

            easy easy now

Since the patch a few weeks back, I have done this quest about 6 times. we are down to about 9 lvl 60+'s to do it. Total time? 45 minutes.

In fact, we don't even have to Agro the general at all. He agro's every mob in each wave, so you never have to worry about him walking off. You just need a slightly larger kill radius as he walks. it seems he agro's giants from a decent distance, but will ignore wolves / dervishes...those just kill to keep from agro'ing him.

Other than that, it is a complete breeze. he swims the channel, doesn't get stuck...and has much better pathing.....we have paused his pathing once for 1-2 seconds as someone got in the way...and he just pushed around the person.

I still recommend Never stepping in front of him...other than that...2 tanks, 1 shaman, 1 bard / enchanter + 3-4 DPS people (melee or caster) all level 60+ and you are set. Clerics or druid/shaman 58+ can handle the healing if your tank on the named has 5500+ Hp's.

I got my Eighth last Sunday, and the only time we had to do anything to Gen Bragmur was when Lodizal was spotted as we approached the Gnoll village. The Enchanter kept him busy while the rest of the force whacked Lodizal -- fastest Lodi kill I've ever seen

Crossing from the Dragon Circle island to ToFS island, and from ToFS island to Igloo island, the General seems to swim at the same speed that he walks, i.e. pretty slowly, but totally under-water ... funny, I don't remember fitting a Snorkel to that Helmet

Just did this for myself last week and there were zero pathing problems with the general. I'd done this escort several times before the patch and everytime he got stuck under the ice somewhere.

Nice to see that fixed as I was nervous as could be waiting to get my 8th.
