I think i killed him once a year or two ago (been awhile). Im now up to the 8th shawl. and 6th coldain ring. And i just got a King tormax hit. Even if i was max KOS would you think i should be atleast threatning? Kinda odd i havent moved from atleast scowl yet. Guess i gotta camp tormax for another raid =(

I think it took like 3 tormax kills to go from max kos to non-kos, which is what you you need to do the quest...

If it only took one kill to change allegiences it would be too easy

basically you kill a boss mob in velious you would instantly be able to do the competing factions quest (ie kill dain turn in head for the belt) then kill tormax then get yeli boots, then for the heck of it turn in yeli's head to tormax to get gloves.

I found a relatively painless (but slower) way to fix faction was to run the 3rd Shawl Tundra Bear Sandwich portion. If you take a the container and suace with you to EW it doesn't take long to get a stack of Saucy Bearmeat needed for for sandwichs. Also, you might be able to get the non-stack meat from people killing the Tundra Kodiaks for the hides.
And running any MQ turn-in on the shawl quest should get you Dain faction as well.

MQing doesn't get you any faction hit unless someone else is doing the MQ for you...in other words, unless you're the one being helped and not the one doing the helping. Only the person who turns in the last item and collects the reward gets any faction hits and exp (unless you're grouped and share exp).

How many tundra bear sandwiches would you guess it would take to go from full kos to dubious ?
