    a reaver

i found 7 "a reaver" on board the airship. none others were on track. i was unable to break any room on the airship (i'm six boxing and can't handle 4 at once.) I tried the parade ground in front of the first elevators on the theory that "a trooper" may be a ph but with no luck. time was short tho and i only had 1 round of repops on the wall mobs. the marching mobs didnt repop in the time i was there.

After you get the book, a frnd said when they tried to combine it with the normal stuff in teh book binding, they got a

"This seems correct but somthing is wrong. Perhaps you need to know something more in order to combine this."

He has all teh books from PoK, ect.. and the exalted symbols doesnt do it. What is he missing? I only need the SteamFactory part which i should finish tomorrow, and I am wondering what i will need to do also?..

Yup, sadly the combine to make sublime patterns is bugged. It will be fixed with the next patch.

What am I doing wrong? I have spent nearly 12 hours exping in this zone and have yet to see ONE "a reaver". Most of my time was spent on the 3rd floor of the elevators, am I in the wrong place? I've killed lots and lots of gnome models but have never seen one of these.

Ok i finished the quest.. not to wait for the pattern combine to get un-bugged...

"a reaver" is the mob you need. Any GNOME, not robot, not gnome_robot, is a PH for reavers. Airship has alot of them but its a total pita camp, fast repops and designed really horrid since rooms adds on pulls.

Best camp i found is right dead center middle of the zone, where teh elevators are.. pull the gnomes to east and west. It still takes a while.. but with a CC or Puller its a pretty easy camp.. and i guess its ok exp.

The steam factory part isnt to hard, but you do need a solid group. Nothing i found saw invis, so just invis north to the center north room, and you should find 10 or so mobs alrdy up, it only took me like 2 hours.

By airship do you mean the main "building" that has the sets of elevators in it? Assuming that is it does it matter what floor? I've pulled the third floor and second floor a ton. Killed several mobs called "a mechanic" and similar that have gnome models. Are the rooms "hut" like? Some even have gardens in them? I'm hoping I've been fighting in the wrong place because if not it will take me months to find 40 reavers.

I spent several hours last night mass-killing in the extreme northeast room (the one where you have to drop down the elevator to reach). With a group that was pulling 2-3 at a time, we were easily able to clear at least half the room, if not more, before repops. During several hours of that, I didn't see a single reaver. There were plenty of "a shock reaver", but no "a reaver".

Finished, though i am unable to do the combine. There seems to be no sublime tailoring books to "learn" at the PoK historians--at least for Iksar. I'm getting the, "you seem to be missing.... though this appears correct" message.

I will let you know the 2nd part is very rough. Mobs hit for roughly 2600+ and it is a very challenging zone to pull. Really need to be in a tss/solteris or equivalent type gear to stand much chance in here. The steam factory is Tier 3, it's no joke 2-3 mob pulls are very common with monk or bard. Took me about 40 kills to get my 4 updates and another in group had his before the 20 kills. Granted my echo line is messed up, but even if working as prior I would still find this to be one of the most challenging areas I've pulled in sometime. The groups I've taken in all had TSS gear with a min of one TSS wep and we were hard pressed to kill 20-30 mobs at most before repops.

a_reaver are horrid to camp (not a_shock_reaver). 24 hours + to get 40 kills/spawns. The only benefit is that we were able to work some other quests at same time. I really thought it should be swapped 20 a_reaver & 40 a_foundry_worker too.

By all means give it a shot if you think it feasible, otherwise may want to stay with the exalted for awhile.

                      Souljahha,
Where did you come the "a_reaver" ? You said it took you 24 hours to get all 40 killed and I can tell you that in 12 hours I've spent there I haven't seen one. I've got to be in the wrong place but I'd think this would be a zone wide spawn from any gnome ph?

                      Thanks for your assistance,

No. Most of the 'a reaver' mobs are in the blimp which is off the SW corner of the zone, hard to miss if you run over there and check it out, there is an elevator that goes up to the zeppelin with 2 minotaurs at the entrance. There are 6 rooms or so, all tightly packed. I'd really reccomend bringing a chanter, the respawn rate is incredibly fast (~12 mins) and until you get a camp split up you will have multiples every pull.

Besides this area I saw one 'a reaver' down in front of the large building in the middle of the zone.

The airship has alot, but it is a real pain in the arse camp...

The camp i did was right in the middle of the zone, where the elevators to take you up are... Stay on teh ground, and pull the gnomes around there... remember only mobs that are GNOMES are ph... not mobs that are robots.. or gnome robots.. the mobs up the elevator dont count.. sorry..

shock reavers are higher level.... so your area has some of the higher level stuff. Will probably want to try another spot.

So far, I've found two confirmed areas with reavers.

The first is the open plain near the zone in. Set up camp at the first set of elevators, clear the two wandering patrols, move to the center of the field, and kill all living gnomes. Gnome group member sacrifices are optional. Reavers seem to be quite rare in this area; during three hours of almost non-stop killing last night, our group managed to find a total of five reavers.

The second spot is the airship, zeppelin, blimp, or whatever you want to call it, at the southwest (?) corner of the zone. Not 100% sure of the location, and going by memory here. The crew of the airship is almost 100% live gnomes, but they are VERY tightly packed, 3-6 mobs per room in small areas. Kiting or pretty much any form of CC other than mezzing is near impossible. You'll need a quality chanter or multiple tanks and healers for this. And if AE spells go through walls in here, it could get ugly. I haven't actually camped this yet; everyone wants easy exp, not this tough camp. =/

I've heard reliable reports that reavers also spawn on the third level, in the rooms before you drop down the elevator to the pits. I've never seen one up there, and I've never had a tracker find one in that area, but I consider the person who told me this to be trustworthy.

The foundry worker camp is fairly tough. The good news is that foundry workers are plentiful and only share spawns with 3 other classes unlike the 8 classes shared by reavers. The bad news is that they are in a large room that is jam packed with brutal mobs. Think Anguish mini in terms of mob difficulty. Several of the mobs have interesting procs. The foundry workers will proc a "fall down" from which you must stand quickly or they will hit you for thier max (about 2600 with max shielding.) The foundry slaves (brownies) proc a curse that will cause you to proc a heal on them as you attack them. This is a 5000 point heal WHICH USES YOUR AAS AND FOCUS!!! Since i tank with a pally that really hurt, giving the mob 12k heals. Radiant Cure takes it off.

I was 6 boxing so i took it really slowly. i camped in one of the halls leading to the room and it was safe. Ranger would invis group, bard pulls one of the 2 roamers that comes near hall and fades when everything has come to group. Then mez, fade, wait for adds to leave, mez, debuf, kill. If you dont have a super group this may be the only way to go. Exp will totally suck but eventually you will get your patterns.
