    • is there any plan for a new tradeskill quest in SoD?

      • I would doubt it.

After all the work that went into making the SoF item, it has typically been a couple expansion gap between large scale tradeskill based quests.

I suspect that also since the skill cap is not going up, there would be little more he could ask of tradeskillers, to make it more of a challenge, until he could require a higher skill (froma skill cap increase) to request the tasks or have a reasonable chance to succeed on the combines. I could be mistaken.

        • I'm sure Ngreth will toss in something fun for us, even if it's not Eron-level complexity.

          • Unfortunately I did not have time to get anything "special" in, just tradeskills.

            • So I started this epic TC quest and I am in the first quest - Not so simple Jewelery - and at the step "Create 2 Eron's Configurable Chain using tradeskills" right now. I have a modified JC skill off 345 and I am lvl80. I put 2 Purified Dragonscale Ore (unstacked) and Eron's CC&S Mold in the Jeweler's Kit he gave me. And I get "This seems correct but something is wrong. Perhaps you need to know something more in order to combine this". So, what did I do wrong? I did not skip anything, I am the the correct step in the quest. I have max JC skill and I am max lvl. I have no clue what to do next and the message is not helping at all.

              • Sounds like you did not inspect and scribe the recipe he gave you. Note: If you still have the recipe in inventory, this is what is wrong. It will disappear when you learn it.

Thanks, that must be the reason. I will check once I get home. Looks like I am getting old as changes in the game play start to make no sense to me.

This error message means that you are of a proper skill/level to attempt the combine however, you are trying to do it in experiment mode and the combine is restricted to only work in the tradeskill UI. There is a book/note that you must use to scribe the recipe and then you can search for it in the UI and do the combine.

                    • The other part that was probably not too clear, is that if you have already scribed the note, and you go back to the NPC to get a new one then it will "disappear" as in it will not appear again in your inventory.

If you go to the NPC to get another one (as you have searched your bank and inventory and cannot find it) and it does appear, then you have not yet scribed the note.

                      • Consolidating some of the information I had to search for regarding the Fletching piece, "Counting Shadows" and some I learned by experience:

The altar is on the biggest island in the large sea at the north of the Hills of Shade zone. The exact location is 2501, 757, 55. The altar is not in a building; it stands in the open.

On your way to the site watch out for
                        - - "a korathus scout" in mid zone. He sees invisible and is kos.
                        - - "a fisherman" on beach at the center
                        - - the cemetary in north east part of the zone
So, I chose to go to west zone border and then north.

In the area of the altar there are no kos mobs, at least none that see invisible.

IMPORTANT: When the boxes are dropped according to the instructions detailed by Zolina in statement number 278 above, they do NOT land on the ground around the altar. They land ON the altar.

                        • Quick Question about Part #7.

We're not seeing a large number of Purple and Yellow faycites. In the time that we have gotten 12+ Brownie hairs, 4+ fluids, we have only gotten two purples and no yellows.

Do the faycites only drop off Steamworks as allakazahams suggests? Fluid drop rate is about 30% off enchanced models. Brownie hair is a bit rared, but has dropped up to 3 at a time so far, however the faycite are like less than 5% drop rate. Are we just being bitten by the RNG? Is there a preferred place to farm faycites that anyone has? We've been setting up in the big big room to the far west that you can fall to DSH from, due to being able to all three types of mobs there.

                          Thoughts?

                          • Is tailoring the last step? I've been stuck getting brownie hairs for like 6months now:-(

yes - Tailoring is the last step. We had brownie hair drop rather regularly off the little critters. It's the faycites eluding us.
