Are there any particular patterns that anyone has found for the velium hounds? It seems that hounds are pretty random across the zone. No tracking here, so basically I'm trying to find out any short cuts that anyone can share for finding the doggies. (4 furs down, 4 to go)

Velium Hound Pathing in WW?

No short cuts, just log on after any server reset and hunt them faster than the druid farmers can. If they're all dead, hunt any mammals around (brontotheriums and mammoths.) After that, things normally go all reptile so you can just leave for a while. I suppose you can kill the crags, ice burrowers and wyverns, but being KOS to dragons makes farming hounds really hard.
I'm not 100% sure but pretty much anything unnamed can be a placeholder for velium hounds. I have been the only one in the zone hunting mammals for hours and they thin out pretty fast. Also, if you have lev, I find that hounds sometimes path into the water, run around out on the water for a bit and one will usually agro you, just watch out for ice burrowers.
Oh and try and get a tracker. =)

I agree, if you can be in Western Wastes after a server pop, that's your best bet.
One night Western Wastes crashed 3 times on Bristlebane. The 3rd time, someone shouted train of hounds to zone, so being the brave (And needy bard I am) intercepted the train to kite the hounds further out. When I reached my kiting spot, I had about 16 hounds after me....I think I got 9 furs out of that run (KIlled 31 hounds in a row that time).Harliquinn Whiteshadow

When I was hunting them, I always looked around the east side of the ToV canyon. I usually spot one or two hounds there if I look hard enough, or I end up aggroing one while looking for them
. Being un-KoS is very helpful, since the only mobs you have to worry about aggroing (as long as you don't wander too far out in WW) are ice burrowers and hounds.
I got around 12 furs this way as a cleric.

No set pathing as any mob (except Dragons) appear to be potential placeholders for Velium Hounds.
I concur with the hunting of WW just after a server/zone reset. Once the servers have been up a while, the mobs tend to all be hunted out and turn into CoV faction mobs.
The mobs that are NOT on CoV faction in WW are:
Velium Hounds
Glacier Mastadons
Brontotheriums
Ice Burrowers
The 8 Shipwrecked Pirates
The 4 Dragon Hunters
The odd faction mobs:
Esorpa of the Ring (Only Dragon in WW on Ring of Scale instead of Claws of Veeshan faction)
Guardian Kozzalym (No Faction, but Dragons ASSIST if attacked - go figure)
Tsiraka (Only Wyvern on Kromzek Faction. Scowls to CoV and Yelinak friendly players)
And the rares:
Rogue Dire Wolf
Icehackle
Tantor
Stronghorn
Kaidian Blade
Storm Warden of Death Misdealt
Soldier, Tradesman, Knightly Gentleman

I suspect there is 1 more mob not on CoV, but not 100% sure.
Was bored after killing all the ice burrowes (39 kills and still no ice burrower skin for my monk /cry), and went exploring the caves near the Dragon Sage, and something in there killed me, cant remember name, but didnt even see it, suspect it was stuck under the world, but it werent Esorpa of the Ring.

That would be Tsirath or Tsiraka or something like that (don't remember the last syllable), named wyvern in the caves, red to 62, on Guardians of Veeshan (NToV) and thus KoS to all.

Added Tsiraka and Guardian Kozzalym to list for completeness and future searching.
