Aid Grimmel tailoring

Does anyone know if you can do the combine before getting the quest? I have all my materials, I'm just short of the Sol Ro flag to get the quest. I'd like to clear up the bank slots if I can do the combine now.

Yes you can.
You can even turn it in without the proper flags and get the next earring if you're at that stage.

is that true with all the other parts? i dont ahve any flags but cna gather amterials for all combines

Only with the tailoring and fletching can you hand it in without the flag. You can combine the stuff whenever, but since Grimel won't give you itemX to combine it with till you have the flag, it doesn't matter anyway. The only reason you can combine the fletching and tailoring parts early is because Grimel doesn't give you anything for the combine. (You combine the signet with the materials which you already have)
