Well, I did it this past weekend! I had been putting off the 6th shawl because of the dreaded tailoring run to get to 158. It wasn't the silk swatches that were stopping me, it was the 2-10 slot backpacks full of Heady Kiolas that I'd need to get my Tailoring skill from 131 to 158.
So on a slow day, I logged on early in the morning and began the finger aching exercise of making Heady Kiolas! Sometime later (i'm not sure how much time passed, I was in a zone!) I finished my 2 backpacks full and dropped them in the bank. Promptly camped out to get something to eat and do something not so repetitive.
Logged back on just before lunch and made my Tailoring run. I got to 158 with 50 Heady Kiolas to spare! Now I needed a Geerlok! Go to the Bazaar! Doh! No one is selling a Tailoring Geerlok! Start sending tells.
{If you happened to a be one of the MANY gnomes that I sent tells to in my search for a Tinkerer, I apologize for bothering you!}
Getting frustrated and accept an invitation from a guildie that's been aking me to group with him in Maidens Eye. Finally get a tell that a tinkerer has a Geerlok for me. Meet up with him, and quickly buy it, head out to Maiden's Eye.
The whole time I'm grouped there, all I can think about is the 6th shawl pieces sitting in my bank! After a particularly bad pull with 3 adds, I die. After getting ress, I gracefully bow out of the group and race back to the bank.
I get everything together and make the thread (with my eyes screwed shut and memories of failed 5th shawl combines running rampant)! Success! Ahh! the moment of truth (so far anyway
) Open the Tailoring Kit, put in all the ingredients, say my mantra (Mama needs new dress! Baby needs new shoes!), cross my fingers, and click! I was able to go into the weekend happy!
I hope you guys don't mind a "gratz me" post, but I have spent more time and effort on tradeskills than is fiscally prudent! (Smithing 187, Baking 182, Tailoring 158, Fletching 153, Brewing 150, Pottery 144, and the re-headed step child for me is Jewelcrafting 21, /sigh). The Coldain Prayer Shawls were what inspired me to take up tradeskills, and I am excited to be close to the 7th and 8th shawls!
