Halls of Honour Alternate Entry (Smithing Quest)

I searched!

Quaking in fear, I searched the site hoping to find the info without posting a question (ok, that was an exageration - I'm feeling melodramatic today).

This is the only post on the HoH flag quest I found and I'm wondering if this site has any other info that I missed? I checked allakhazam and a few other places and did find some info but I trust info I find here over any that I've found anywhere else.

For anyone else who is looking for info, here is a what I have so far.

Halls of Honor

From PoN - Agony Mephit Heart ~ droped by an agony mephit

From PoV - crystal spider brain ~ dropped by Lumini Crawler

From PoI - Solid Block of Perilium ~ dropped by any named mob (ie. corroded prototype, corrupted system)

You then hand these three items and 3000pp to Borik Darkanvil in PoK for him to combine to make the key to HoHa, alas Borki is not that experienced at smithing, and does have a chance of FAILING the combine, in which case you LOSE everything including the 3000pp.

Alternatively, you can combine them yourself in a tanaan forge with a smithing hammer and a flask of water, trivial smithing <= 175.

Either of these methods should result in a box of souls.

You then go to PoJ where you need to kill the tormented souls who live in a cell near the final stairs down to the trial area. You need to kill them 1 at a time until they spawn a named mob on death, named either exiled trooper of Marr, exiled officer of Marr or exiled soldier of Marr. Each shade in the room will spawn one of these mobs on death. Once the exiled spirit spawns, hand it the box.

You should then recieve a soul orb and have the box returned to you.

You need to do this once for each tormented spirit in the room, until you have the 3 soul orbs.

You then make your way to PoV and find Grenic Drere, to whom you hand the 3 soul orbs. This will result in a ring of marr, your key to HoHa!

Mephit got a heart transplant??

Last night I killed an agony mephit after his heart.

What dropped was:
Nightmare Mephit Heart
LORE MAGIC NO DROP

I can not find ANY info anywhere about this heart, but more importantly, I want to know if it will work for the flag quest?

Note: Is it possible that this piece was altered to implement the group-flagging from these quests that was implemented in Wednesdays patch?

Does anyone have any info about this please?

This is the same piece as the Agony Mephit Heart....They changed the name.

Since the name was changed to Nightmare Mephit Heart has anyone heard of it dropping from normal Nightmare Mephits as opposed to the Agony Mephit? Would definitely make this one a bit easier to get.

The alternate entry quests now allow an entire group to get flagged instead of just one.

I have wondered how this worked on this quest, which is a two parter. Does the group have to do borik's box together, and then do the box of souls together? Will the entire group get a box of souls then? Or can someone who did borik's box alone then grab a group to do the box of souls and flag everyone?

If the entire group does have to do borik's box together, will the smithing method give the entire group the box of souls? Can a 250 smith who is already HoH flagged via mob kill, get a box of souls via smithing it themselves, and then upon filling it, get the quest completed for the rest of their group on handin?

I know, lot of stupid questions.

Bleh, apparently at least on a few servers, as of at least Tuesday April 15th, the alternate entry quest mobs have gone missing! No Grenic in PoV, no Wembly in PoS, no Grimror in PoD.

I know for a fact that the HoH key quest keys the whole group.
The 'whole group' meaning the group of people that you're currently with that are in the PoV zone when you turn in the 3 orbs and the box of souls to the NPC.
How you obtain the heart, brain, block, smith it, and camp the wraiths is entirely up to the user.
A yellow message appears that says 'A key has been added to your group members' keyrings!' when you do the turn in.

Also note: IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A FLAG OR KEY TO HoH YOU CANNOT DO THE QUEST. A friend of mine tried to get her key from a friend of hers and when he tried to turn in the components the NPC gave the speach but the group members did not receive the key.

Same goes for CoD, only one set of named larve flesh is needed.. one person turns them in and everyone in the group gets a CoD key

I'm unsure about BoT, however since it's -not- an alternate entry quest but is actually the only way to get there I'm betting that each person has to collect the beard, sash, bone, head, and 2 medallions in order to get the key.

Actually, you can still do the quest if you already have the flag, I did the HoH alternate quest before the change, and since I had my box of souls left, I did it again after the change, and flagged a group (for fun and profit!), the thing is though that you have to give Grenic Drere the box of souls now, along with the 3 orbs.

This is still true as of now. I just spoke with a GM in chat who told me that they were on indefinite leave for "language lessons." The ones mentioned were Grimror, Grenic, Wembly, and Iranai (PoTranquility).

Sad for me, as I've got four larvae flesh burning a hole (literally!) in my pocket.

As of this morning, Grimror Plaguebringer is back from his travels (although without the language requirement mentioned elsewhere), and I am now happily keyed for the Crypt of Decay. Presumably the other alternate access NPCs are back as well.
