  • AA Mastery, Skill Up, Aid Grimmel My TIME!

    I am torn.
I am working on Aid Grimmel. I got that hope stone drop and already had 236 smith with 15% mod gloves, 220 brew and 225 fletch, had the flags, soooo what the heck? A hybrid like me needs equipment badly, and I like tradeskills.

I dug in. First I got everything to at least 199, then started gathering stuff, mostly for tailoring as I had avoided this in the past knowing what I would be in for. Also, got my AA's.

I am not totaly dedicated, die hard to Tradeskills. I just like them, and it gives me something to do other than put together bad groups when I am not raiding.

I am now at the the point where I am a level 70 sk with 246 AA's.
    Smithing part done!
    JC part done!
Pottery part (228 pottery, four stacks of embued rose quartz, 10 each of iron oxides and permafrost crystals, and 3 sacred waters in bank, I like the EB ring)
Tailoring 218 (1 sap, bazaar bought in bank, 6 hours of hunting in field one)
Fletching 225 (a few things to skill up in bank)
Baking 199 (a zillion things to skill up in bank) - need my AA's

20k pp I make all of my money mostly on ethereal rings, swatchs and sheets
    it's slow
I spend my money in small increments of things for tailoring skill ups and in larger for fletching.

I am torn over whether to:
Put my AA's into my playing as a tank etc for raids groups, solo - I solo a lot, not real fast at getting AA's.

Put my AA's into mastery in ?
um smithing cause I am GM with mod? made augments be successful and brag
um tailoring cause the sap camp sucks! and also skilling up and farming for tailoring is long and xpless mostly
umm fletching cause air archnid silks are a pain to get and to be able to make real nice bows would be cool and maybe profitable?

What do people like to do? Do AA masteries to help with a single quest combine? or just suck it in and skill up? or.. skill up with Mastery?

Salvage is good if you are skilling up since you end up with more skillup attempts.
Mastery is good if you already have the skill and are trying make something meaningful since you have a better chance of success.

Personally I wouldnt try either the tailoring or fletching without 252 skill.

I failed tailoring 2 times with max skill....(camping the sap = sux)

I failed fletching once with max skill (and 50k for a bow staff hurts). I waited till i had mastery 2 before my second attempt.

If i go through it all again for a 2nd earing, i wont do tailoring without mastery 2.

I succeeded tailoring first try at 220 skill. Then failed fletching 3 times with 227 (had geerloks, but this was before mastery aa)

I hate to be the one to pour cold water on your dreams... but if you are asking for advice as to what is the most efficient, I would work at getting one of the new earring drops in OOW and forget the AG earring. I am thinking primarily of the one that is a random drop in Riftseekers... Ice Pearl I think its called. I have seen at least 4 or 5 of these drop and they are nice. There are others nearly or even better that are new drops. The AG earring was sublime two years ago but its just not as relevant today, sadly. And instead of the necessary tradeskill drops getting cheaper to get they are if anything getting more expensive as people gravitate away from PoP and play more in OOW.

haha, it 's not as much fun for me to just go get a pearl earring.

To have that aid grimel earring is a matter of pride, and I dont give up like that when I have put so much in it.

I have too much pride in my tradeskills and that earring is a trophey for me.

So far, I have put mastery one into tailoring. got the tunic on second try at 234, (244 with geerlock)

Failed the fletching combine once at 242 (252 with geerlock) and mastery one. I have four friend working on the quest too. We are gonna grab a few more and go farm some more Air stuff for more bow tries.

I am slowly going to get my masteries in smithing and fletching I think. Varying between my tanking sk etc AA's and rewarding myself with a mastery here and there.

Smithing I have just been lucky, with 236 and 15% mod gloves to make me 252, no mastery I have suceeded on 5 out of 5 gold inlays for people so far.
