Ok I've searched the forums and found several threads.

The answers I want might be in these threads, I haven't figure it out just yet.

    8th Shawl Quest Walk through

Ok here's the situation. I have a Paladin with 6th shawl, I have a new cleric bot I'd like to MQ the 8th shawl to. (No need or desire for 8th shawl on Paladin anymore.) How can I do it most effectively?

Paladin is 66/200AA has 250 smithing/baking and 200 all other tradeskills and 6th shawl. He can buy/farm the rest of the 7th & 8th pretty easily.

Cleric is level 46 and has no tradeskills. BUT I would much rather raise his tradeskills on him rather than try to farm the materials for up to the 6th shawl. TS to 200 is easy for any.

So what can I do to get the cleric the 8th shawl, but not having to farm shawl 1-6 again on him?

Any help would be most appreciative.

Unless I am missing something big, there's no way to avoid doing shawl 6 on your cleric. You have to turn in shawl 7 to the avatar of below to get your 8th shawl, and as it is the only turnin, there's no way to MQ that. Shawl 7 is made as a combine from shawl 6, so it is not MQable. Shawl 6 is made as a combine from shawl 5, so it is not MQable. Shawl 5 is also a combine. Shawl 4 results from a single turnin, and is not MQable.

You can MQ the seal with the 2nd shawl to get shawl 3, and skip farming the oh-so-fun snow griffons, to get shawl 3.

You can MQ the armour for the 8th shawl, but the party to get the 8th shawl (ie: your cleric) still need to have the 7th, in order for this to work. In your situation, others have said it would require your pally to have the 7th shawl as well.

From one of your linked threads:
The Mq portion only bypasses the smithing.

A person with shawl 7 makes a set of armor. Another person with shawl 7, but no smithing skill, simply summons the dain for the first person to turn in. The first person then starts the dorf walk by handing him the box from dain. At the end of the dorf walk, the second person (the one with no smithing) hands his shawl to the avatar.
Im not sure you'd save yourself a lot of time, by doing the MQ on the 8th shawl. Skipping the snow griffon eggs, if you kept your seal of whatzisname, will probably save days, if my experience with those stupid feathered plagues is any guide.

Ahh, so it looks like I might as well finish 7th on Paladin and just use his smithing skills.

I'll just get the rest of TS to 200 (or whatever I need) for the cleric.

I hate camping greenies though. =/

I believe you can also MQ the 4th shawl, or at least the note from Tanik, but since you'd have to work up pottery again for the 7th shawl it doesn't save anything.
