  • Prayer Shawl #7 - end results no drop ?

I found the list of ingredients and the trivials required to make the sub-combines. Does anyone know which if any or do all of the sub-combines result in no drop items. In other words, can some of these be done by another person who has the skills already and traded to me to complete the quest ?

Get ready to get carpal tunnel skilling up. Yes, you need to make all the items yourself.

No pottery is actually needed for the shawl quests as you can MQ the note for the 4th shawl and someone can give you the unfired rune for the 7th. You'll need to fire the rune of course, but that's a much lower trivial than the actual rune. Everything else is not droppable.

So all sub-combines result in a NO DROP item?

Ouch! Looks like I need to get all my skills up quite a bit.

The point of the shawl quests is that they are a tradeskill quest - would stand to reason then that yes, you need to get your tradeskills up.

I, for one, am very glad that it is not multi-questable.

As far as the shawls go you can avoid getting the baking and pottery skills personally since you can MQ the seal for that shawl and the rune is tradable before firing. The 8th shawl is also mqable so you don't have to do the smithing but takes a fair amount of work so not likely to happen (need to have the 7th shawl still or again on the person doing the smithing). If getting your baking and pottery skills up are an issue for you just quit now since those are the easy ones to raise.

                wow...that's kinda harsh.

It was a bit off topic, but still related to the question. I do have to agree with her, as it makes the shawl special.

I also agree... I love having people see that i have the 8th and say

Ooooh wow, that is so great!

THey know how much work and how skilled i am at tradeskills just by looking at it. If it was MQable, hell a few tradeskillers would be making a whole load of money, and every caster on the server would have one.

no no no... that would be bad.

I where mine as a mark of Honor! I dont think i would ever replace, unless they upgrade the quest to 9 and 10.

Which IMHO should be done. Even if they flag the 9th to be 60lev and the 10th 63lev. This would remove the fact that it would be a very high powered item.

Simply make the quest giver not talk to anyone who isnt high enough level.

I like the fact it can't be MQ'd as well.
And then I liked the fact that my lvl 40 druid was offered a death shroud by a lvl 65 cleric friend (the focus effect is for spells under 60th level), and when I said "no thanks, my item is better", and showed shawl 7, they just went "WOW"

Said cleric friend is now up to shawl nr 6, and I may well MQ shawl 8 with her, if she helps me get gems for my own  Gems are the only thing holding the little druid back from wearing shawl 8...

Ilona, of course, has had her 8th shawl for several months (since lvl 50), and I level s-l-o-w-l-y! (levelled to 53 so far since getting the shawl)
