  • Dain missing, lazy dwarves in his place

    Greetings,
I was wondering if anyone has run into this situation on their server. I have my ench ready to do the turn-ins for the 8th shawl but Icewall Keep seems to be missing a few key folks. For over a week now, Icewall has been populated by a bunch of lazy dwarves laying down on the job. Dain nor any of his cabinat or other "normal" denizens of Icewall are present.

This is preventing me from finishing the quest and I've not come across much of a discussion on any of the eq boards I normally frequent other than someone thought it was a result of a failed 10th ring war. However, it been 10 days since that event and we've had patches since then and still no sight of Dain.

If anyone has some info please post.
    Thanks for your assistance.

Might try the advice given in the write-up in the main board section here under quests...

This does give a way to summon the Dain if he isn't up.

Kemie, the FD dorfs all have "slaughtered" in their names. Which is what happens when someone fails the 10th ring war. There is no chamberlain or other npcs in the zone to spawn the dain.

It used to be that some abusive players would hand in the note to start the war, and deliberately lose the war to prevent another guild from taking down the dain. Actually, the most abusive I ever came across was a guy who deliberately killed the turn in mob during a Ring 10 war. That was the event which finally got him and all his 12 accounts banned (he had the worst rep you could possibly imagine on that server, all self inflicted).

I did look for the chamberlian but even he is not up. So the quest is at a complete standstill until these slaughtered sentinels go away. So my next question is how long do these mobs stay down and what will it take to clear the zone and respawn the correct folks?

I think it's a few hours + whatever the normal spawn time of the mobs are. So Chamberlain will not be up for another 24 hrs, and Dain himself in 3 to 5 days. But you only really need Chamberlain since you can spawn the Dain with him anyway.

I would petition if they don't seem to be respawning. It's highly unusual to find the slaughtered dwarves for more than a day since respawn on Sentry Badain to trigger the ring war is 3 days or so. The zone has been known to become stuck with the slaughtered spawn before.
