Sneaking with Dain

I made a post a while back about the possibility of doing with this but now I actually have the pieces, I'm just curious, my faction right now is scowling, what do you guys think would happen if I snuck behind dain to give him the seventh shawl? That he woud accept it, give me the orders, turn around and attack me? That he woul eat it and I would have to start over again?

Just wondering what you guys think would happen, thanks for responses.

I've done other quest turn ins successfully with sneak. So it *should* work... unless the Dain is super strict about who he does business with.

Tip: If you shrink and stand underneath his throne platform, Dain and his guards can't see you and won't agro, yet you will be in close enough proximity from your hiding spot to do a hand-in by using F9 views or Bind Sight. Be sure to turn on sneak with his back to you and verify that he cons indifferent before you do the hand-in; he will eat hand-ins if you con KoS.

I tried this with for the 9th Coldain ring -- was able to do the turn-in to Dain without any agro but he ate it because he conned ready-to-attack; I do not have sneak ability. Having someone invis you will not work because he sees invis. I would expect sneak or feign death to work.
