Just started the AG quest (trying to find A Drop of Pure Rain at an un-extortionate price to continue), but I was just wondering:

Are the breastplates returned if the combine is unsuccesful?

I doubt it but I can't tell you for sure.. with a 226 skill I succefuly did the final BP combine twice.

According to the recipes we have, The Breastplates at all steps are consumed, success or failure. Sorry.

For future reference, unless you have information to the contrary to what we state in a recipe... presume we have the information correct.

We try and be very careful about what information gets added, and we refuse to put in information like this that is in error.

If we have questions about the recipe, our notes will state that.

Now if you do find something in our recipes, or quest writeups, that is in error, which you have confirmed in game, please speak up and say

"Hey I just did such and such and that is in contradiction to what you state".

We will fix it, or ask for clarification and possible verification.

With how we've got things set up in the database now, we'll mention if something is returned on failure. The recipes do not/will not say anything extra if something is *lost* on failure, because the majority of all tradeskill combines are full loss on failure. Soooo, you can pretty much assume that everything's lost if the recipe doesn't state otherwise, and not expect to see anything mentioned unless we've verified that something's returned.

2 questions.

1. Can you do this a second time for the other earring?

2. When you receive your class earring can you turn it in for the other one?

you can swap the final earing by handing it in again. as a bard i use the ft3 earing rather than the melee oriented ear.

once you have the final ear, you can make the second to last ear and wear that as well, but you cant have 1 of each earing type.

i also went back and made the EB ring so i dont have to carry around those singingsteel gauntlets anymore!
