Geerloks on Grimel

Starting my second earring on aid grimel for my rogue, with geerlok the forage shows 231 skill (220 raw)

The Clensed Breastplate shows a 227 trivial in the database, shouldn't I have recieved the message "You can no longer advance your skill from making this item" ?

Just has me a bit puzzled, maybe aid grimel combines ignore your geerlok? I know its been brought up before but I didn't figure SOE had enough sense to do something like this.

It's not ignoring your Geerlok. Geerloks only modify your effective skill, not your actual skill. If you are at 220 base and the trivial on a combine is 227 you will still get skillups (or at least not get the "cannot advance skill" message) even though your Geerlok makes you 231 because your ACTUAL skill level is still below the trivial. This would be true for any combine, not just Aid Grimel bits.
