Apparently the finished versions of the Iksar necro skullcaps and warrior pikes went live and wasn't announced in patch message. The warrior pikes are all made by traditional smithing in a forge, so might be relevant to this forum, not sure info on them even at alla's sketchy at best. I as gonna take a crack at them and got the 2nd so far, the first one that is smithed is the third. Anyone else checking it out?

Ok, so far i got up to the 3rd pike. The 2nd one is obtained via standard questing, handing in the Partisan Pike you start with along with a froglok escort fife and iksar traitor head, netting you a Militia Pike.
The third Pike is the Footman's. Handing in 2 froglok bounders javelins and 2 goblin hunter javelins combined in a quest bag to a guild leader npc results in a lore, no drop, tradeskills tagged "Pike Head Plans" which looks like a note.
Weaponsmith Grungle next to the forge in the war guild has the rest sold in his merchant inventory to finish this step, except for a petrified redwood (foraged in ww or mob drop in ot), and "geozite tool" which has same graphic as planing tool and is tradeskills tagged, also a seperate quest to obtain it(info on alla).
Ok forge time, in the forge combine: Geozite Tool + Raw Pike Head + Petrified Redwood + Pike Head Plans = Footman's Pike head trivial at 28 and WAS added to the smithing recipe list (unusal for quest combines).
To finish that was: Footmans Pike Head + Iron Rod + Forging hammer = Footmans Pike. This was also trivial at 28 smithing and did NOT get added to recipes (no surprise).
Thats as far as i got so far, been running around kurns looking for the final gem drop i need to smith the next one will post w/e i find here.Last edited by Dumpty; 05-13-2004, 02:29 PM.

Beyond the legionnaire mancatcher
I've been waiting a loooooong time for the final quests to be finished, so I've been working on this as soon as I heard it was live. Here's what I've found so far:
Speak to Drill Master Vygan, upstairs in warrior guild.
Say "I am a legionnaire"
and he replies with;
"Yes you are I see you are willing to possibly sacrifice yourself for the cause. That is good. Take this container and hunt down their messengers. They are the ones who relay battle plans to the different tribes. Their combined messages will reveal the master plan. Now go and do not return untill you have them all"
He hands you a four slot, no drop, lore container called a book of bindings. Identifies as a book of magical power.
"An Unfinished Note" is the drop required, these are dropped by:
a Sarnak Messenger in the Overthere, southeast corner between FM and WW. This note identifies as top left corner of a note.
a Goblin messenger near the goblin fort in Warslik's woods, identifies as top right corner.
a sarnark messenger in lake of Ill Omen
And the fourth drops off a goblin messenger in FM
take the 4 unfinished notes and combine in book of binding and return the an illegible message (lore nodrop wt 0.1 size tiny) to vygan he responds
hmm... even if the writing wasn't as smudged as it is, i still would not be able to decipher the hidden message. You must now take this and find some one with the ability to read it. I hear there is such a person on patrol but i cannot recall where."
That's as far as I've found info for, I have no idea who Vygan may be refering to. The only thing that springs to mind is Argest and the stupendous tome/machine, as it deciphers illegible scrolls to make the tome. However this seems out of line with the rest of the quest and its' level range, so I believe the npc may be entirely new.

I have done the first part, gathering the emssages and taken them to the trooper in the FoB. He wants Silver Oxide, a Sarnak war braid (off of the sarnak beserkers in OT) and a frost crystal (foraged in DL) .
I cannot find the silver oxide, if anyone knows where to get it at, please share this information.

Someone on test was askin for Silver Oxide a couple weeks ago on test, and no one had any clue.
Only thing i could think of was that oxide is basically rust, so silver bar + flask of water in forge = silver oxide, but i dont think that went anywhere.

Finished the first quest last night and it does involve smithing, here's the end writeup and the recipes:
hail Trooper Drix he says "cant you see i am busy on patrol"
give him an illegible message he reponds "ah, i see you know my true [calling]."
what true calling "i am the leading authority on restoring and deciphering messages. I can probably make out the message if you can bring me back some [items] i commonly use."
what items "i will need your message,a frost crystal, sarnark war braid, and some silver oxide. bring these items back to me and be quick about it."
some wher along line he gives you drix's satchel lore nodrop wt 1 wr 0% cap 4 size medium
Fill the satchel and combine with the following items:
Silver Oxide-Bloodgill Scavenger LOIO
Sarnak War Braid- Sarnak Berserkers OT
Frost Crystal-Forage DL
Illedgible Message
This results in a full Drix's Satchel, hand it in to Trooper Drix and he responsds with:
"Trooper Drix uses the mixture you brought him and spreads it evenly across your document. It settles into all the wrinkles and with the speed of a Master, Trooper Drix uses the sarnak braid to seal the pieces as one"
Trooper Drix says "Take this sealed note back to whoever you need to. I dare not say what it reads outloud."
You recieve a Sealed Message
Go back to east cabilis and return the note to Drill Master Vygan-
Drill Master Vygan says: "I see you have returned in one piece. That is good. You have shown that you are a true warrior of the Legion indeed! Take this, and show that you are more than a legionnaire. I fear we may need just that [before this issue is over]."
You recieve Champion's Mancatcher Crown plans
Ask Vygan "before what issue is over?" and he replies with:
"Do not concern yourself for now. Rejoice instead and seek out Weaponsmith Grugl to guide you in forging your new weapon. I must speak to War Baron Eator regarding the welfar of Cabilis"
Weaponsmith Grugl is downstairs in the warrior guild courtyard. Ask him, "How do I forge a Champion Mancatcher?" and he says.
"To forge a Champion Mancatcher a blacksmith of great skill would need a steel rod, a forge hammer, and a forged Champion mancatcher crown. That crown is forged with a geozite tool, crown plans, a raw crown and an opal."
Grugl sells the steel rod, hammer and a mancatcher crown. Opals can be purchased in east cabilis at the jewelery merchant.
Combine the the Champion crown plans, opal, geozite tool and Mancatcher crown in a forge to create a Champions Mancatcher Crown.
Combine the Champion Mancatcher crown, a steel rod and a forging hammer to create Champion's Mancatcher
Magic lore no drop
Back primary
Piercing
dmg 12 delay 30 dmg bonus 10 Ac 6 +5 str and sta, sv magic +10 giant
Iksar warrior only.

Has anyone figured out how to progress beyond the champions mancatcher?
I completed it this morning and have tried every combination of phrases and even tried handing my Champion mancatcher to every single warrior Guildmaster and merchant in the warrior guilds as well as the warlords in each of the newbie zones.
I have yet to get a response from anyone.

Next Mancatcher
The next quest is broken, you recieve a four slot bag to combine four items from Nurga belonging to Xyzith in, but 2 of the items are miss tagged size wise and won't fit, it's fixed on test and should be on live next patch. Here's the quest so far up to the block, although the first part is not neccessary it's just for information and lore:
Klok Scaleroot merchant by the necro tower in West Cabilis replies to hails with complaints about mercenaries outside cabilis disrupting trade and asks if you will help convince War Baron Eator to do something by collecting three bands from Iksar Mercenaries in Field of Bone.
Iksar Mercenaries path back and forth near the Warsliks Woods zone in FoB, they're blue to a 55 and dodge all melee damage. You'll have to find a caster to help you out and kill them till you collect three Band of the Chosens. These are all named the same but are different and lore, so you can only collect 1 each of the three. They Identify as Rank A, B and C.
Turn in all three bands to Klock Scaleroot and she replies:
"What's this? I see you have the proof I have been looking for. Take this note and speak to Drill Master Kyg. She is a stubborn one but true to keeping the Legion safe.
Scaleroot hands you a note to Drill Master Kyg, a female iksar guildmaster who can be found in a side room halfway upstairs in the warrior guild. Turn the note in and she responds:
"WHat's this you have? Hmmm..I knew there were issues brewing but not of this magnitued. The War Baron has seemed preoccupied with [other issues]. These issues may be one and the same.
say What other issues
"It seems as though a [Warlord] recently brought back news of Xyzith's fate. The War Baron could not understand how Xyzith could turn on his fellow brother so. The War baron now seeks to find one that can solve this mystery.
say "what Warlord"
"The Warlord's name? I believe it was...wait a minute why does this concern you? All you need to know is that the Warlord is very brave and serves this Legion proudly unlike you! If you wish to prove yourself you'll speak to War Baron Eator regarding his findings and give him this to show your worth"
Kyg hands you a note to Eator, hand the note in to War Baron Eator, head warrior guild master and he replies:
"Ah I see you have gained the approval of another. I suppose you are the one I should [share our findings] with then.
share what findings
"It seems we have no clue as to why Xyzith turned against us. We need you to find where he traveled and get down to the bottom of the mystery. Go speak to Geot, He was the closest to Xyzith. He may remember where Xyzith searched for the legendary metal.
(NOTE- It doesn't appear that this portion of the quest is neccessary if you already know the trigger phrases and how to speak with. Eator doesn't give you anything to hand in to Geot.)
Warlord Geot is on the balcony of a small tower to the left of the buildings as you exit west cabilis to Lake of Ill Omen.
Say- Who was Xyzith?
"Warlord Xyzith was one of the Legion's most honored. He lead his troops into countless battles and never suffered a loss. He was sent out on this mission many say because his thirst for war had grown large. He vowed to bring back a metal so powerful that it would bring fear to those that laid eyes upon it.
Say- Where did Xyzith search for the legendary metal?
"I wish I knew. I can't understand why he turned on us like that. I have since seen him in my dreams, or rather nightmares. He is not right and I will not believe that he is the same Xyzith I once knew.
Several new Goblins spawn in Nurga near the entrance, they each drop new items that have item lore pertaining to Warlor Xyzith, hand in one to Warlord Geot in LOIO to recieve a four slot bag and instructions to combine the rest of his remains in the satchel. Unfortunately the shield and Broken mancatcher crown from Nurga are too large to fit in the bag and be combined. The other items; A symbol of the Legion and a Tattered Bracer fit in the bag now.
