Aid Grimel Baking -- BUGGED!!

To anyone who read the original post. The problem was with Maelin in Library needing to hear new information instead of new lore.

I havent started quest yet, so I may not be the best person to give advice, but i have read up on it a lot.

He obviously thinks there is something wrong with your flags, as he insults your tradeskill if you are too low at that skill.

My advice would be to visit the seer and unlock memories (or whatever it is) to check your flags.....

Make sure they are all there etc.

The ironic part is that according to every write up I see, the required flag for the baking step... was one of the same flags required for the previous step. So, if he responded appropriately on the fletching portion there is no reason he shouldn't respond now.

I did visit the seer though in my attempts to resolve this on my own. She gives me the message, something about childhood memories, that indicates all flags are in order.

So frustrating, would really like to know if anyone else is having this problem?

Here's your answer.

People get this bit confused a lot. Once you kill Rallos Zek, you have to ask the Grand Librarian about two things,

'What information" and "What lore".

Then he tells you that Solusek Ro is somehow tapping the Power of Fire and to go stop him. When you come back after killing Solusek Ro, you have to tell him the words

"new information"

to complete the Fire flag.

Fairly often, people leave out the 'New information" part because they think it is the same as the first 'what information' part. And also, they might have already zoned into Fire through the portal in Sol Ro's tower, and thought that their Fire flag was done.

Aid Grimel checks whether you are fully flagged for Fire--having had said all three phrases--before allowing you to continue to the baking part.

Yes, its stupid that it's made that way. It's my theory that baking was supposed to come before tailoring and have only the Rallos Zek flag requirement, but that Sony messed it up when they implemented the quest.
