Has anyone seen this guy since they added the fabled mobs?

Or am I just extraordinarily unlucky (been slaughtering south ro desert for 6 hours and haven't seen him one single time though I saw him several times before the fabled mobs appeared)?

That didn't answer my question (had anyone seen him AFTER the patch that added fabled mobs).

In any case... now I can confirm... he still spawns (grats me a phylactery).

Yes i saw him chasing a poor lowbie on sunday 28th. Unfortunatly some DE managed to nuke him before i could get there to save the lowbie and reap the rewards.

I actually got the Ghoul to spawn in Oasis in 30 mins on Sunday. I just ran around killing ghouls, then any undead, then anything with two legs. After doubling around teh zone with nothing with two legs on track i started in on the spiders. Then he spawed

I've been fluxing the entirety of the SRo desert for 2 hours, much to the annoyance of some lowbees... no luck yet. I even started to use Ward of Ro and Sword of Xuzl (healing it with Firetree), so you can figure out the boredom...

I recently spent 80 hours camping this guy. 15 pops of the Ghoul. 1 drop of the Anchor.

However, I got pretty good at farming him. Here are my discoveries:

- The Ghoul pops in both Oasis and SRo.
- It's easier to pop the Ghoul in Oasis. I've seen 1 Ghoul in SRo, and around 14 or 15 in Oasis.
- The only method I know of to get him to pop is brute force killing.
- Any MOB seems to be a possible PH for ghouls.
- Ghouls are PH's for The Ghoul of Tak`ish Hiz.
- Ghouls pop at night. This pop stops happening at 6 AM. Ghouls seem to start popping at 8 PM.
- The Ghoul of Tak`ish Hiz has popped 3 or 4 times at the sunken yellow tower just North of the docks, but doesn't always pop there. He's also popped at the docks, just West of the docks, and just to the North of the Orc "temple" near the NRo zoneline.
- The Ghoul of Tak`ish Hiz has popped during the daytime, too. Once.
- I have spotted 3 Ghouls popping at exactly 5 AM near the dock.
- Killing Dune Tarantulas and Sand Scarabs seems to get the SG/Ghoul PH cycle going more quickly.

My method for clearing Oasis is to start at 3 PM, and wreck everything along the coast on a back-and-forth swath twice. Then starting from the North end of the coast at the water side, I head South to the dock, do a right-turn, and clear every MOB up to the temple area, and exterminate any Orc on the highway. From the temple I head North to the zoneline, killing all. Then head back East to the water's edge, killing everything that way.

So it's a big circle. I'll criss-cross, up-and-down, and back and forth, paying particular attention to MOBs that spawn very close to the zoneline, as I've confirmed pops of those particular MOBs as PH's. Keep your eye on the sunken yellow tower, too.

Any time I see a spider or scarab I give it priority. Any time anything pops right near the NRo zone line, I give it priority. Any time I see a Ghoul, I give it priority.

Turn your gamma up so it looks like daytime. The Ghouls have a very distinctive profile so you can see them from way off. I'm a Mage, and trackers will have a distinct advantage here.

Good luck, he's rare as hell, and the drop rarer still.

farming this guys for 15ish hours now in oasis.

both time he pop a little bit to the north-west of the yellow tower.

and most important both time he POP right in my face during day light (11am and 2pm).

to wait for night pop will only take you more time to get your ghoul cause obvously he pop at any time of the day/night.

75 hours for me now. 4 pops (1 in oasis, 3 in S. Ro.) Mass killing everything I can. Has not dropped anything.

Has anyone gotten the anchor recently?

I've killed him 26 - yes 26 times - since mid-may and I have seen him drop runes, that red gem, and coin and that's it. I havent seen one anchor and I'm starting to get concerned.

I killed 4 more Ghouls tonight and the only drop was some Rawhide leggings

Killed him twice today and dropped rawhide leggings first time and second time he had THREE items on him: rawhide cap, rune and another rawhide leggings. Geesh. Getting sick of this guy.

One thing I noticed in S. Ro, is that he has popped most of the time around that Western Derv camp... and once near the sunken tower. However, I think it's a lot like quillmane in that you have to literally kill everything that moves and the mob will pop in a few different places. Since his PH could be anything wandering around in S. Ro. those all wander.

I also have started to kill things in groups of three. The first sign of seeing three mobs on tracking grouped together (ghoul, ghoul, ghoul) I go after those asap.

In the end, I think every method is bunk. It's just about luck. The reward for the time you put into this is embarrassing.... If not for this one mob, it would be a good quest.

I finally got it. All hope is not lost. Keep trying all. My smithing was 195 + geerlok..... successful creation.

Spent about 30mins farming SRo for Terrorantula silks and sunlights for my obsessive compulsive behaviour regarding cultural.

Hey, our favourite ghoul spawns.. I dont realise it till the pets nearly slaughtered it.. run back to find the corpse. Nothing on it. 10mins later, he spawns again, and drops the anchor.

No-one else in the zone... nobody on my friends list who's looking for it. So I loot.

Maybe I'll consider doing the quest now.. but man. You lot are gonna lynch me :P

I killed him 6 times before getting a spiritual anchor. Finished Phylactery. Now on to dark phylactery. Killed him twice, no anchor yet. Total of 1 for 8 so far. I'd really like him to show up, drop the anchor, and be done with this so that I can move on with my life.
