i need one of these got my 9th ring quest. Do they only drop off of siren's in Siren's Grotto, or can i camp the ones in Cobalt Scar as well. Also, do they drop off of a particular type of siren? thanks for any info

With patience, you can find these being sold in the bazaar quite regularly. Some are priced high so be picky and wait for a good price. Took me a few weeks until I found someone selling one dirt cheap and I jumped on it. (Bought 2 just in case). Just be sure its the (Cloud) version.

I just made my Tainted Avalanche Ale and gave it to the Cap'n in the Eastern Wastes. One of the more easier kills in this quest! Just pacy his bodyguards and pull the Cap'n after he falls down.

They do not drop in Cobalt Scar, only from Sirens in Sirens Grotto. The cloud shells are sometimes over priced but are barely worth 500platinum let alone up to 2k sometimes. a lot of poeple fail to see the difference between teh cloud shell and the enduring breath shell.

They are random drops off the sirens. The EB version is used in the coldain shawl, so you can still re-sell it and not make a loss on it.

Lots of shells drop at the bottom of the well in SG. Bring a strong group, and lots of bag space for all the stuff that drops down there. If the named siren pops, leave her alone, or its coffin time. Make sure the ML of the group knows to let you grab the shells, most MLers I have grouped with destroy them.

The shells drop VERY commonly. The only reason there is a market on them is because no one kills sirens in SG very often. I was there with a group of friends years back and we got 1 shell per 2-3 siren kills. I think we had a run of a shell off 8 sirens in a row.

                  Neriads

Sirens are a total pita. They're much harder than the neriads. So- we killed neriads instead. We got 6 EB shells and a number of cloud shells in an hour or two, easy. Zone into SG, succor across to WL zone, then run up to the flat area with the covered temple-like well. Drop in (everyone needs EB, and good swimming helps), have an enchanter for mezzing and have fun. These were 2 boxed by a 65 shammy and his tank (I forget exact class), we did it with a mix group of 55-65, (the 65 being the shammy to show us where to go). Since I'm a druid I'm often lacking on how to get out without a port, so I can't help there

These are about to get MUCH more common. There is a drop needed for the new VP quest that drops from sirens in SG. Prices should be going down quite a bit in bazaar if you don't want to camp them yourself.

This is a really good cash farming camp though - I was shocked when we went to do the quest our group of 6 came out with 2k plat each on the split - and that was pretty much destroying all the shells and just selling vendor junk.

                      Dont go to the well

There is a MUCH easier spot that is accessible from the CS side of the zone. When you zone into SG, invis past the bulthars guarding the pool and jump into the water. If you turn right (east) you will see an underwater passage guarded by seahorses and swordfish and you can pull these 2 at a time with no problem. Continue swimming east, clearing everything as you until you reach a point where you can pop out onto land to a temple guarded by sirens. This place is much easier to fight at than the well is and has an abundance of Runed Shells. a group of 59s-65s (pally, bard, cleric, rogue, shammy and wizard) mowed thru these in no time. They also have a chance of dropping netted kelp armor and there is a PH to a named who spawned while we were there who dropped a very nice plate mask. After 3 hours there we came out with 350PP a piece, many swordfish teeth (common drop) and 5 Runed EB shells and 4 Runed Cloud shells.

                      Much easier than the well.
