We did it twice in one day to get a shawl for myself and another guildie. The first trip we had 8 people, mostly 62+, but one 44 druid. The second trip we lost our 64 mage. Both went fine.
We did have some accidental agro that had to be atoned/blurred. One tip: You may want to have the accidental target drop his damage shield while the general is annoyed with him.
We didn't attempt any of the General kiting stuff that I've seen in some of the walk discussions to allow med time - we never dropped below 80% mana except at the last encounter when I nuked some. We did have to kite the General back into an unfinished fight when he lost agro on the remaining wolves.
One thing that helped a lot was for everyone to have the eqtools map for iceclad that marks the spawn points. That allows most of the group to run ahead of the General and clean up zone trash from the path and battle sites. Leave a couple with the general just in case.
