  • Sacred Water & Obsidianwood Sap Drop Rate

Sacred Water - 6 drops out of 57 kills = 9.5 per drop
(killing all the armor dudes except the unslowable one near the ZO)

Obsidianwood Sap - 9 drops out of 170 kills = 18.9 per drop
(killing all spiders in the first field including 5 kills of the red-con Spider Queen one of which had 1 sap)

The drop rate on the saps seems better on the yellow con spiders after the first castle. You need a group though, as there is nowhere safe to kite them that I can find.

Yellow con spiders in second field are definitely soloable. You can kite along the west wall, only occassional roamers path to the wall there.

Are the mobs that drop the sacred water soloable?

If you can stop them from summoning you...probably.

But that's the problem. We had a chanter try it once...then get a group up and we got all three in about 90 minutes, we were happy (then we went to PoF and got him three saps in about 12 spider kills..was insane...the ingrate then failed the combine..hehe)

I have two boxed a ranger and a charmed pet with the ranger just rooting one while i mez the other.

and snare too for the pet and mob

so Im sure you can use an enchanter to charm solo one.

Of course everytime charm broke, i got summoned and killed.

              Sacred Waters in PoV

              Hellos!

On Saturday night, 28th Feb a band of merry folks entered PoV and farmed Sacred Waters.

First mob taken down was the solo, yellow con Knight between graveyard and the 'outer' camp. This taught the lesson, they can summon and he didn't drop anything. Therefore toe to toe tanking was in order, agro kite just not possible. Further, the respawn time was way too long for this individual.

The next targets were the two guarding the doorway in the building next to the graveyard. During the course of the evening Sacred Water was received from these fine fellows.

The other targets were the military ranked "named" lads in the tents just further along from the building. Technique for these is documented elsewhere, but train them to the zone, another persons hails and the train goes back to the tents keeping the 'victim' at your camp ready to be killed. Again, Sacred Water was received from these, along with a hanful BoEE, a few diamonds and so.

Our group of 6 folks, shaman, cleric, ranger zone pulling, myself tanking and extra dps was able to cycle through both of these locations without need to wait for repops.

In the course of the evening, I'll estimate 5 hours or so, maybe longer, I've recieved 6 Sacred Waters and completed the Pottery stage of the Aid Grimel quest once; the others to be done for a second time when I've completed the tailoring.

Thanks to those who posted informations, and good fortune to those following our footsteps.

i farm zone in for saps when i need money (they sell for 10-15k each).... i have had 5 drop in one day and gone 2 days with 0 drops....

waters it is best to just have a good group chain pulling the knights.. we got 6 in less than 2 hours that way... boring and almost no XP tho (compared to EP's)

Are there any faction hits for killing the knights / soldiers / recruits / whatever you call them in PoV for the sacred waters?

I don't mind the drop rate on saps, it's reasonable to me to only get three saps in 6 hours or so soloing (~14min kills). What is unreasonable to me is I'm 1/9 on the tunic at 230 +5% skill. This combine is harder than all the others and I see no good reason why it should be.

armor dudes are soloable by a druid...takes some practice, but it's doable...

and fire is easily soloable, definitely field2 spiders, more xp, same hps, always snareable - what's not to like? tho certainly easier when the mini's are down...
