  • Aid Grimel Quest, hard/rare components

Hi I have just started this quest ant am wondering if anyone had a list of the harder/rare items required for the various steps. Just the stuff I can kinda keep an eye open for in bazaar

    Thanks

I'll break this down by steps for you:

    Smithing
drop of pure rain - somewhat common (PoV)
nightmare mephit blood - common (PoN)
    sandstone pearl - uncommon (BoT)
    stormrider blood - common (BoT)

    Brewing
Super easy part of quest, need no drops

    Jewel Craft
Another easy part of quest, just takes some plat for the velium bars

    Pottery
Sacred Water - very rare from my experience, 6 hours so far camping them and no drops. NO DROP however.
Iron Oxide - keep an eye out for them in the Bazaar

    Tailoring
Obsidianwood Sap - pretty rare, be prepared to pay top dollar
    Fire Silk - somewhat common
Brick of molten ore - common
Fire mephit blood - somewhat common

    Fletching
    Air arachnid silk - uncommon
Chunk of wind metal - common
Featherwood bow staff - rare, doubt you will find one for sale in the bazaar. It is used in this quest and also to make a rather nice bow.

    Baking
Regrua meat - common. Look for Bucket of Crab legs in bazaar, you'll find completed item probably rather than the raw meat.

9k - whoa, that's cheap imo. Sold my Featherwood Bow Staff just yesterday on Povar for 20k.

sandstone pearl - dozens of these things on vendors around pok, at least they are on inny, cant imagine why it would be different on another server. maybe 20p each in bazaar.

Obsidianwood Sap - ultra rare~ be prepared to pay 20k each for these, you need 3 for the combine. (oh, and expect to fail the combine a few times)

Air arachnid silk - can pick up a dozen stacks of this thing from the avatar of dust ring if you ae the little spiders.

Regrua meat - Rare on innoruuk, at least in the bazaar. I can usually sell them to quest people for 2k each. Nobody really exps in water (at least not down that far, even though the exp is great) and stuff tends to go to guild tradeskill junkies whenever you raid hydrotha, ofassa, krizzik, coir, etc.

. drop of pure rain : 800 pp at bazaar, quite common
. sandstorm pearl : often found on merchand in PoT
. obsidianwood sap : rare at bazaar, and really expensive (20 to 30k each)

I wouldn't call the feather wood bow staff rare and it's definitely not rarer than the silks but like anything else it depends on what mobs your doing. If a guild still regularly does the first avatar in PoAir and kill the bee's they drop then pretty regularly. PoAir on the other hand is probably the least popular of the 4 planes for raiding and if no one is doing that ring then they could be fairly rare. Personally my guild has done those ring numerous times due to lack of other targets because of competition on the server and we've got like 40-50 bow staffs sitting in the bank.

As far as the hope stone goes I got 2 or 3 of when I was farming my saps and we've seen numerous on raids in the elemental planes. Enough that we usually only have 1 or 2 tells on them when they do drop.

Not on Bertoxx, Ive never seen regrua meat or the bucket of crab legs for sale for any price.

Obsidianwood sap is rare, but I was lucky enough to get two just soloing single spiders at the ZI during only about three farming sessions. I bought the 3rd in the bazaar for 10k. They go for 10k-15k on Bertoxx.

Featherwood staff is a pretty common drop from the bee/bug/flying things in Air. Clearing the island with all of them usually nets us anywhere from 2-6 staves.

Hope stone... sigh... thats all I need to finish and in all our planes raids only one has ever dropped and someone else, the only other guildie working on the quest, won the roll.
Now I am at the part to use it and she still isnt done with tailoring heh.
Hope stone has been the thorn in my side.
