Velium for 8th Shawl

With the new enchanted velium bits recipe, the price of velium has shot the roof on Vazaelle at least (80pp a block) - just wondering the fastest place for a 65 cleric to grab the ones needed for 8th Shawl.

Also with the Coldain Velium Tempers guy perma-killed til they fix him, breaking down velium isn't a very palatable act at 35-135!pp per temper in the bazaar. (I know I can make it but clerics making repeated trips to Cobalt Scar is kind of inconvenient too.) So if possible, the actual large bricks and blocks would certainly be the most useful.

Thanks for any help - of course the searches for "velium" turned up six million things and "velium blocks" turned up almost nothing

Probably because its not "velium block", its "block of velium".

That didn't help either. Got me 6 threads, one of which was this and 5 were on Grimiel and just included the new recipe for enchanted velium.

Go to CC. It may be luck, but I've seen more block drops up top than down below.

Crystal Caverns is the best place to farm Velium, IMO. Bring a chisel (bought in PoK) with you, or leave it in the bank, it does not matter.

Convert any small bricks into small pieces with the chisel. Sell the small pieces at the outrageous prices your server supports now, and use the proceeds to buy enough tempers to convert the large bricks into the blocks you want. OR turn all but the blocks into the small peices, and simply fight in CC until you have all the blocks you want, then sell the small peices in the bazaar.

There is a bank in Froststone (the dwarven town). Just below the bank, there is a forge, still in Froststone. VERY handy setup those dwarves have! Only question is, why is there no Coldain Velium Temper sold by those Coldain? They're right there at the main source of the Velium, for cryin' out loud!

Hit CC today. Did four or five top to bottom clearings today with a 65 paladin friend - only ended up with about 6 large blocks, 3 large bricks and about 15 small bricks. Friend supplied the rest of the blocks and made the rest into rings and got all my velium done

Fizzled two soft fur linings (ouch) so need to farm another 2 velium hound furs - none in bazaar oddly enough - so just needing those to do the greaves and the breastplate and I'm done, barring any fizzles.

you can also combine small bricks of velium and coldain temper to make large bricks and large bricks all the way up to blocks. not really cost efficent but it will get the job done if need be. I just went to cc and farmed everythign took what I had combined all of em till i had the apropriate blocks and then went to town.
