Flags wrong on Aid Grimel JC?

I just killed Saryrn, got the flag, went to Guided Meditation and made sure my text said:

Tylis has been removed from his agony.

Which it did, but...

Aid Grimel says I do not have enough knowledge of the planes to help him further.

The two "lower" flags than Saryrn that I am missing are VZ and Agnarr, so it's got to be one of those.

Have you said "What lore?" to Grand Librarian Maelin?

VZ is required for Pottery step... I guess it could be Agnarr though.

You need Bertox for step 1 so... not sure what you're trying to say Quaras.

If you MQ past Bertox, you can avoid the Bertox flag through the final step of the quest.

You need the Bertoxx flag in order to have a completed Saryrn Flag, so if you do not have one, that is the problem right there.

Also, I have VZ, but no Agnarr, and have done the JC part, so if you are able to successfully get the JC part with Bertoxx, then the problem lies not with the VZ flag but with something else entirely.

You can MQ around the SKILL portion of the quest, but not the flag portion, I think.... a 250 smith w/o Bertoxx flag is pretty much SoL, at least that I saw.

Skill is also checked at end, for Hope Stone turn-in .. so you have until then to get your tradeskills in order ....

*I* Do have Bertoxx, Quaras doesn't, and I am the original poster of this thread who can't do the JC step with a Sage message that says:

Tylis has been removed from his agony.

I'm pretty much just reporting a minor discrepancy in the quest writeup.

I would guess that VZ is required, I'll report further as I get Agnarr or VZ.

Yes Albur, I know that. My comment was directed to Quaras.

And as I said already, *I* have done the JC part, and *I* have the VZ flag, but no Agnarr.

The point I was trying to make is that if Quaras is able to do the JC part without the VZ flag once he gets the Bertoxx flag, and you are not, then the problem is not in the flag, while the opposite thought of if you are suddenly able to do it once you get the VZ flag, then it IS the flag that is wrong, is also implied but not explicited stated. Make more sense?

If this is what your guided meditation says, then you either don't have the necessary flags or your pre/post flags are not in order.
This is not the message for a completed Saryrn flag; this is the message you get when you have killed the Keeper of Sorrows.

When you have completed the entire Saryrn flag line, your guided meditation should say "The Cipher of the Divine Language appears on your arm for a brief moment then fades."

I'm not sure, but I think you have to complete the Mith Marr line of flags for this as well, which is Aerin'dar, all three trials in Halls of Honor, and Mith Marr himself. Do you have those flags?

Edit: (Brain fart) The Saryrn one is "Saryrn has been destroyed. An aura surrounds the mystical symbols that have appeared on your arm."

Cypher of the Divine Language means that you have BOTH MM *and* Saryrn and have combined them. You don't need to do that.

Which brings up the thought that maybe the trigger is NOT Saryrn, but Mareeq and VZ.
