Word Write-Up

I know KyrosKrane has been doing an awesome writeup on his site for this quest. I've been working on an MS Word version of writeup (based a lot on his writeup and on this forum) that's sitting out on my server.

Don't know if any cares <shrug>, but it makes a nice, printer friendly version that has a feature common to my write-ups called the "Master Shopping List" on the last page that makes a handy check list of items to gather as you're completing the quest.

Anyways, if anyone finds it handy, great...otherwise it's only out there so I can work on it at home and the office.

I've been watching for some sign of resolution before asking for a writeup to put on the site. Are things to the point where we could add a guide to the site that is more or less complete? Additions and corrections can be made, of course, but I'd like it essentially intact before adding it.

The vast majority of the quest has been solved. The only major outstanding issues are (tradeskills) the combine for the silk insert using stone silk and (non-tradeskill) whether and off which mobs the Tome of Miragul drops to start the quest. All other outstanding issues are more niggles and concerns, rather than roadblocks to completion.

Any time you want it, my write-up is yours for posting on the site.

Gneville, I'll look over your write-up as well. Hope you don't mind if I steal the good bits and incorporate them into mine.

Sure, although there is not much original work in there other than the fact that it's in a printer-friendly format and that "Shopping List" at the end for those of us <cough> that like to gather things out of order when possible.

As far as I can tell, at this point, the only "unfinished" portions are working out two of the tradeskill combines to create the final product...as well a definitive TRIVIALs for all.

I have (slowly) been dropping in some of the items and recipes mentioned here into the database. This being done amongst the other things I am doing.


If I miss something obvious, drop a note about it in the Database updates forum, and I will endeavor to add it in.

I don't mind missing details on trivials and strategies for acquiring the various drops, but I would rather wait till the basic recipes have been solved. Once those are in I'll be ready to stick it on the site. Sound good?

OK, then as of this writing, that leaves us with one unsolved recipe plus the final combine (which, presumably, is a no-fail combine in the quest container). I'll holler when we finally have this sorted out. =)

Think you are linking to an old version cypher -- still has the quest as incomplete and the Tome dropping off Dartain.

Cypher, it looks like you updated the tradeskill combines, but a lot of the quest text and descriptions are out of date. The comment on multi-questing no longer applies, for example; and the Tome of Miragul drops off Ancient Constructs now.

On a related note, I'm almost ready to submit my write-up to EQTraders. I'm going to give it one more day for final updates and proofreading.
