  • Aid Gimel Smithing MQ ??

I have seen that Aid Gimel Smithing is MQ'able. Is this still an option ?

If so can you pls post how .

I tried to scan through the 30 pages in the sticky and couldnt find anything.

Yes it can be done. I had it MQ'd with me since two weeks ago I didn't have 220 in Smithing.

Person MQ'ing with you *must* have flags and 220 in Smithing and Brewing. Person who wants the Earring must have 220 in Brewing and the appropiate flag. He/she (who has both of the skills mentioned above) does the whole Smithing step. They now have the Hardened Leather Signet.

They go and do the Brewing portion only up to the Portable Drink step. What you will need to do is say this line to Aid..."I have skill in Brewing." Aid will give you a Portable Brew Barrel.

Person helping you hands in the Portable Drink *first* and the person wanting to continue the quest will turn in the Portable Brew barrel *last* to receive the Clay Signet.

having read this i might as well bite the bullet and get smithing to 220 +

MQs: ONLY the Brewing part is MQable. And since the requirement is checked again on the LAST STEP, if you do not meet the requirements then, you will STILL need to get Smithing to 220, unmodified.

      But thanks for your help

        That is correct.

But say a person has 220 in all but Smithing which is at 188 (random number pulled out of thin air). They could do the Smithing/Brewing MQ, along with the rest of the Tradeskill portions of the quest and end up with the Marked Runed Signet and start receiving the benefits that go along with that earring. *While* working up Smithing to 220.

On the other hand, if Smithing is the last skill to raise up, then like you said, bite the bullet and get it done before starting the Aid Grimel Quest.

Does this still work? I'm trying to free up bank space tailoring and smithing are the only ones still causing me extreme frustration? I heard a rumor that he no longer takes the brewing barrel. And just gives the signet back to the person who handed in the Portable Drink.

          Any help is appreacited.
