Newbie Quest in Nek for Necro/ D. Elf Armor

Ok... Im trying to do the quest for my Dalk-Elf Necro Armor. I talked to Tal... and said all the right things for him to send me out... untill I get to the part where I have collected the items to makes my gloves, returned, and told him "I want to craft gloves" and then NOTHING happens. I have the items all mixed into the special gloves hide, and have tried saying it to him alone in the box and with a glove pattern added in the box. either way he doesnt respond to my "I want to craft gloves". I told him "I want to craft... (other things) but he doesnt respond to any of it. after he gave me the Magic box... he hasnt said another word. I destroyed the box, and started over and still he clams up when its time to deliver my goods... whats up? what am I doing wrong?

Is there a combine button on the box he gave you? Maybe you are supposed to combine the items in the box?

I don't know for sure. I have never done a newb quest.

I did combine the items to make the magic hide. and have tried to combine them with the pattern (bat says I cant combine those item in that box. Then tried to combine them in the sewing kit and got the same thing. He just doesnt respond when I try to talk to him after getting the enchanted box to mix the ingrediants in. he doesnt even give me the recipies (I got them off eqtrader)

With all of the newbie armor tailoring recipes, the pattern should be...

Combine the basic ingredients in the newbie armor combine box. This should produce a single item.

Take that item and put it, and the pattern you were given, in a loom/sewing kit/etc..., and hit the combine button. This should produce your piece of armor.

If there's a problem, you should bug it. But before you do that, I recommend you locate a loom and attempt the combine there just to make sure you're using the right type of container.

The pattern should be handed to you at the same time that you are told the list of ingredients. Have you doublechecked the dialogue you were saying to him? Its fairly easy to screw up (it may actually be, "I wish to craft...") because the words used, particularly for the items you make, are sometimes less commonly used words.

One thing to do is go through the questgiver's dialogue again. For a lot of the newbie armor quests, you have to include the set name in the request, ie "I want to craft Collective Initiate Gloves" or whatnot - "I want to craft gloves" doesn't trigger a response for a most race/classes I've done. I'm guessing that's what it is here - go through the dialogue again to figure out what proposition this particular NPC wants put in before the piece's slot.

Ok... tried asking with:
i want to craft gloves
i wish to craft gloves
i want to make gloves
i wish to make gloves
i wish to craft unholy silk gloves
i want to craft unholy silk gloves
craft gloves
Make my f*#king gloves you stupid NPC

... Nothing has worked. He just stands there and doesnt respond or give me recipies to make the stuff... patterns to make it with... NOTHING!

Im bout to have a smackdown with this game!

You need to talk to Talorial D`Estalian upstairs in the necro guild. Hail him; he should respond. If he doesn't, it is possible that you aren't standing close enough.

The correct key phrase is "I want to craft gloves", although lots of variants will work. He tells you the recipe, and hands you a pattern. If you already have a pattern, in the bank or elsewhere, you will get a red message about duplicate lore items.

If Talorial isn't responding to hail, put in a petition. The GM may respawn him for you, if you are lucky.

The correct procedure is to combine the ingredients in your tailors kit; it sounds as if you have done this. Then combine the infused hide with the pattern he should have given you in a loom (there is one in Neriak, in the foreign quarter I think) or in a sewing kit.

I go to Talorial D`Estalian in the top of the Nec guild.
I say 'Hail, Talorial D'Estalian'
He RESPONDS!
I say 'i am worthy'
He RESPONDS!
I say 'what tasks'
He RESPONDS!
I say 'i will gather some items'
He RESPONDS AND GIVES ME the "Old Enchanted Tailors Kit"

Now I am fine up untill this part when...

I say 'i want to craft gloves'

and it is now that he no longer responds. I havent moved or anything. He is still my target. Everything is as it was before he gave me the OETK. He just doesnt give me the recipies or patterns or say anything. I can hail him again and he responds fine to all that first stuff again. Just doesnt respond to my request for the recipies.

I've been playing with some of the newbie quest info lately, let me jog a new guy onto Tribunal and check him out. They have added some things - 2 guildmasters offered me a tradeskill book when i handed in my note. One in freeport is missing his text about the weapon, lol. Brb

My new baby de necro had zero luck too. He got his box to combine everything in but Talorial just stares at him when asked about any of the patterns. Even tried all the patterns, adding Unholy Silk, etc. Sent bug report. You aren't crazy, grin.

This is a change from previously, and will require an update to the quest write up.
