Looks like the grimling runt spawns in the pit surrounding Shar Vahl have been stealth fixed. I have seen them for several days running since the I returned to playing. No more racing there right after a patch.
They do drop the grimling fang for the dart quest as a common drop but I haven't been able to get them to drop and fingerbones or blood although they may be extremely rare and I was just unlucky.
Edit:Grimling Blood does drop in the pit, it's just rare.
