Because obviously this fellow is in reality a paladin in disguise. Who else would seek to trick poor little evil iksars, making them slave with their fishing poles for years to catch a non existant fish, only to get one of the worst helms ever seen?
Snuffy the illusioned dwarf paladin is laughing even as we speak, I tell you!

Hmm.
Those are the same classes able to wear Jasarth Scale incidentally.Originally posted by brochisWhy would an iksar newbie quest reward be usable by Clerics and Paladins? Got it on Live server

Finished this quest today with my bard.
When you hand in the sharpend cutting disk you get 4 thin sliced froglok pieces (stacked). It used to be only 2.
1 honey mushbread
1 thin sliced froglok
1 shrub lettuce
1 sewer catfish
in an oven= Catfish Croak Sandwich
I bet I'm the only non-iksar on the server with one.
too bad I can't model it for you :?

LOL - try playing a troll for a while then -Originally posted by andaericeI hate to say it, and this is going to come out as sounding very negative, but there has always been an "Iksar bias" coming from Verant/SOE. The mush bread isn't the only thing broken or incomplete.
Some tradeskill examples:

Flask of Bloodwater is the only water sold in Cabilis, but it doesn't combine in many (all?) tradeskill combines
Monks and beastlords have never had cultural tailoring to wear
Until LoY, casters had no cultural either[/list:u]Other quest examples (for starters):

Most LoY quest givers are surrounded by races/classes KoS to Iksar
The 8th necro cap was only recently fixed, and the 9th and 10th were "never implemented"
All classes have extensive progressive quests (well, the ones that work), except Beastlord, that just got a copy of the other races' newbie quest
Half Elf Maiden was finally fixed to put her in her locked room. I guess she'd been treading water for years.[/list:u]Yes, I know this sounds like a rant and should go in the Primal Scream, but I just wanted to show that I wouldn't expect much to happen to get this quest working. Since Kunark, Cabilis has just become more and more broken.
* no progressive quests
* no newby quests which give anything better than rawhide and tarnished weapons
* no cultural geer worth mentioning
* no tradeskill supplies till right before we got thrown out of our home city
* no home city (four months and counting now)
LOL - trust me - just play a troll to 30th and then you'll be able to go back to Cab and know just how lucky you are.
No more EQ for me till they fix the crash bug.

Oh, well, if we're talking about tradeskill supplies and stuff you really should take a look at Paineel some time.
It's like it was designed specifically so that you couldn't do anything. Wait...that's not strickly true - you can sharpen and reclaim rusty weapons.Itzena Alhazared, Revenant of {Planeteers}, Vallon Zek. And also a seamstress.
Gelcea Macha, Wandering Animist of Tarew Marr. Will be a smith, one day.

Did this 9 times last night
I kept a stack of Shrub Lettuce while seeking the Tome of Pain for Greenmist. This was before the quest was solved.
Grabbed the Honey Mush Bread from Bygle, sat for a few hours and fished up 20 sewer catfish, and went to work for Ephmir.
Now before the patch, the Thin Sliced Froglok meat was LORE. This has changed.
Ephmir will give you a RANDOM number of slices; they stack and are no longer lore obviously. I got between 2 and 4 each time, but I wasn't watching closely.
I obtained 22 with 8 sharpenings of the disk (which is ~about right~ for an expected value of 3.)
Made 18 of the 20 sandwiches (failed 2 @ 143, but we've nailed trivials down) and turned them in.
No significant faction change (still amiably).
At any rate, here's a model shot just because. The helm is about a greater lightstone in terms of shedding light (I didn't include that shot in this post). It's red (just like every other shadowknight helmet out there, I swear) and chainmail.
I took off my vision buffs for this shot; the JPG has been gamma corrected (+60 RGB) to mirror what I see in-game.
