  • Newbie Quest- Arcane Scientists Armor

I have a small problem . I'm trying to make a cap. I have 2 spider silk ( each in seperate slots) 1 snake fang, 1chunck of meat, 1 cloth cap, plus 1 cap pattern. I can't make this work. I keep getting the message "that I can't mix these items in this container. BTY, I do have the enchanted sewing kit. Help !!! I want to make a full set of armor..... Thanks

Hmmm, I made these a while ago and everything worked ok.
I can't access the recipe DB from work (only the boards ) but I would double check everything carefully... make sure you're using the right type of snake fang (normal vs giant etc) and that it's the right size of cloth cap....

Dredging my memory, I think the recipe might call for woven spider silk or somesuch - I certainly seem to remember that it wasn't the normal stuff, but an uncommon drop from dune spiderlings.

I'll double check when I get home tonight.

Yep, it's woven spider silk (icon looks like a cloth cord if I recall correctly).

On a side note, the thing that always weirded me out was the meat parts of this hat... I'm not sure I'd want to wear a meat hat.

a friend doing noob quests made this mistake the other day, so see if this is the same thing... (then again, the quests might be different, but it's worth a shot)

in the combine box you are given, you combine everything BUT the pattern you were also given. You get a 'material' that you then take to the loom to combine with the no drop pattern, to get the cap.

A cap will keep you safe from any attackers as well as the elements. To create your cap material you will need to combine 2 Woven Spider Silks, 1 Snake Fang, 1 Chunk of Meat and a Cloth Cap in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a loom along with this mold to fashion your very own Arcane Scientists Cap.'
Woven spider silks drop uncommonly from spiders in EC, but a lot more common from the Dune spiderlings (but not Dessert Spiderlings) in North Ro.
